HBO and HBO Max have revealed a major update to their 2026 television lineup, confirming both endings and renewals across several popular shows. The network is making a mix of final-season decisions and early renewals as it continues shaping its streaming and broadcast slate for the year.

One of the biggest confirmed endings is Euphoria. The hit drama officially wrapped after three seasons, with HBO choosing to confirm its final episode only as the season three finale aired.

Series creator Sam Levinson also spoke about the ending during an appearance on the New York Times’ Popcast podcast, confirming that the story had reached its planned conclusion. The show, which starred Zendaya, became one of HBO’s most talked-about titles during its run, but its story is now officially complete.

While one major series is ending, several others are continuing with new seasons. One of the most notable renewals is Harry Potter, which has already been picked up for a second season even before its first season airs in December 2026.

The series is expected to follow the book franchise closely, with each season adapting one novel. Season one will cover Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, while season two will adapt Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. The renewal signals strong confidence in the long-term plan for the series.

Another renewed title is Rooster, starring Steve Carell. The show has been confirmed for a second season, and its first 10-episode season is already available to stream in full. The series continues to be part of HBO’s expanding comedy lineup.

The unscripted A24 collaboration Neighbors has also been renewed for a second season. The series explores real-life disputes between neighbors across the United States, focusing on unusual and often dramatic conflicts. The production involved extensive filming across the country, capturing real stories and turning them into episodic television.

The corporate drama Industry has been renewed for a fifth season, but it has also been confirmed that this will be its final season. The creators said in a statement, “For some time now we have been thinking about how best to end the show on an unparalleled high. Unlike some of our characters, we know when to leave a party.” The series has been widely praised for its sharp look at the finance world, and its ending will conclude a long-running story on HBO.

The late-night comedy series It’s Florida, Man is also returning for a third season. The show continues its format of recreating strange and viral real-life stories from Florida, combining humor with documentary-style storytelling.

The medical drama The Pitt has been renewed for a third season following strong audience response. The series recently finished its second season and continues to build on its success as a flagship drama for the platform.

HBO’s long-running talk show Real Time with Bill Maher has also been renewed for additional seasons, extending its run through 2028. The live weekly program continues to cover political and cultural topics with Maher’s signature commentary style.

Finally, the comedy series Hacks is confirmed to be ending in 2026 with its fifth season. The show’s final chapter aired its latest episode in May, bringing the story of Deborah Vance and Ava to a close after a critically acclaimed run.

This combination of renewals and endings shows HBO and HBO Max continuing to balance long-running hits with new projects as they prepare for a busy 2026.
