The action icon didn’t just lend his team’s name to the project either. Chan revealed that he personally visited the London set to support his stunt team as they worked on action sequences alongside Tom Holland, a gesture that speaks to how personally invested he remains in his team’s projects even when he isn’t performing himself.

That visit produced one of the more charming behind-the-scenes anecdotes to come out of the production. Chan recalled director Destin Daniel Cretton’s reaction to the surprise appearance, saying “I went to watch their rehearsals, and the director was so excited when he saw me,” adding “I made sure he understood that they are part of my team,” in comments given to Hong Kong publication HK01.

This isn’t the first time Cretton has tapped into Chan’s stunt lineage for a Marvel project, either. The Jackie Chan Stunt Team, known for classics like ‘Police Story,’ ‘Rush Hour,’ and ‘Shanghai Noon,’ previously collaborated with Cretton on ‘Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings,’ which earned widespread praise for its dynamic, hand-to-hand fight choreography. Reuniting the team for ‘Brand New Day’ appears to be a natural continuation of that creative partnership rather than a one-off experiment.

The pedigree behind that earlier collaboration only raises expectations further. Chan’s stunt team brings more than 40 years of experience to the table, drawing from projects like ‘Police Story,’ ‘Rush Hour,’ ‘Shanghai Noon,’ and the recent ‘Karate Kid: Legends,’ suggesting ‘Brand New Day’ would lean into more grounded, hand-to-hand combat sequences alongside its traditional web-slinging action.
