Marvel Officially Announces Blu-Ray Release for Two MCU Disney+ Series

The Marvel Cinematic Universe started merely as an idea with so much potential, and following the release of several standalone movies, the first crossover event, ‘The Avengers,’ launched the franchise to the stars, where it remained to this day, even though some fans are arguing how the franchise doesn’t feel the same since the Infinity Saga concluded back in 2019.

The ongoing Multiverse Saga expanded the canon with a series of Disney+ shows that started with ‘WandaVision’ in early 2021, and since then, we have watched eight MCU shows on the streamer (seven live-action and one animated show). However, the problem these shows created for the collectors of physical media is that they were available only on Disney+, unlike movies that can be watched on Disney+ but are also still bought on physical media. Thankfully, Marvel has some good news for the collectors.

Two Disney+ MCU series announced for a Blu-Ray release!

On its official website, Marvel recently announced that ‘WandaVision’ and the first season of ‘Loki’ will be released on Collector’s Edition 4K UHD and Blu-Ray. Both releases will feature Steelbook packing, concept art cards, and bonus features, including gag reels, deleted scenes, and ‘Assembled: The Making of’ documentaries that take you behind the scenes of each series.

‘Marvel Studios’ Loki: The Complete First Season’ will be released on September 26, 2023, which is shortly before the premiere of the second season of the series on October 6, 2023. ‘Marvel Studios’ WandaVision: The Complete Series’ will be released on November 28, 2023.

Marvel also revealed an official look at both of these collector’s editions. Check them out here:

With the arrival of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, Marvel Studios was forced to delay all the movies, and therefore the first project set in the ongoing Multiverse Saga was the ‘WandaVision’ series instead of the ‘Black Widow’ movie, as it was originally planned. Before ‘Black Widow’ was released, the studio aired three series on Disney+; ‘WandaVision,’ ‘The Falcon and the Winter Soldier’ (which will also get its physical release eventually), and the first season of ‘Loki.’

Both ‘WandaVision’ and ‘Loki’ were important for the further development of the Multiverse Saga since the events of WandaVision led directly to the events of 2022’s ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ movie, in which Wanda served as the main antagonist. The season finale of ‘Loki’ opened the gates of the Multiverse, leading directly into this year’s ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.’

While it’s unknown when we’re going to see Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch again, we do know that Paul Bettany will return as Vision in the upcoming ‘Vision Quest’ series, and Loki will return this year in ‘Loki Season 2,’ which is set to premiere on October 6, 2023, exclusively on Disney+.
