Mckenna Grace Steps Out in Stylish New Photos as ‘The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping’ Draws Closer
Few young actors have packed as much into a career as Mckenna Grace. Born in Grapevine, Texas, she started acting professionally at age 5 and has since moved from sitcoms and soap operas to prestige TV and major franchise films.
Her breakthrough arrived with ‘Gifted’ in 2017, which earned her a Critics’ Choice nomination for Best Young Performer. She then turned up in ‘I, Tonya’ and ‘Captain Marvel’, and journalists dubbed her a scream queen after ‘The Haunting of Hill House’ and ‘Annabelle Comes Home’. Her work on ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’ earned an Emmy nomination, making her the first child recognized for a guest acting Emmy.
Now the 20-year-old is back in the spotlight with a fresh set of newly shared photos. In one shot, she poses in a hotel hallway in a blush-toned mini dress with floral embellishments, round sunglasses, a long ponytail and strappy heels. In another, she takes a mirror selfie in a pale yellow long-sleeved mini dress with a belted waist, white platform heels and a small cream handbag, with a lilac suitcase waiting beside her.

The suitcase and hotel setting hint at a travel-heavy stretch, which fits her schedule lately. Photo galleries from early October show her in Paris, where she attended the Miu Miu Spring/Summer 2027 show on October 4 and greeted fans outside her hotel the following day. On October 6, she appeared at an event at Musée Rodin titled Elegance Is Authority: The Story, Style, And Power Of Panem, a name that nods to the world of ‘The Hunger Games’.

That Panem connection is no coincidence for Grace’s next big role. She plays Maysilee Donner, a District 12 tribute and owner of the Mockingjay pin, in ‘The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping’. She also portrays Merrilee Donner, Maysilee’s twin sister, and the film opens in theaters on November 20.

Directed by Francis Lawrence and based on Suzanne Collins’ 2025 novel, the story takes place 24 years before the original ‘The Hunger Games’. It dramatizes the reaping of the 50th Hunger Games, also known as the Second Quarter Quell. Joseph Zada plays a young Haymitch Abernathy, Ralph Fiennes returns as President Snow’s younger self, and Elle Fanning appears as Effie Trinket.

The ensemble is stacked, with Glenn Close as Drusilla, Effie’s Capitol escort predecessor, alongside Kieran Culkin, Jesse Plemons, Maya Hawke and Whitney Peak. The first teaser dropped exactly 1 year before the premiere, and some fans said it felt unlike anything the franchise had released before.
Grace’s calendar has been just as full beyond Panem. Earlier this year, she starred in ‘Scream 7’ as Hannah Thurman, and the slasher scored the biggest domestic opening weekend in the franchise’s 30-year history. It followed her 2025 turns in ‘Regretting You’ and ‘Five Nights at Freddy’s 2’.
She also voiced Skye in ‘PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie’, a very different tone from her horror credits. That versatility has become her signature, and it’s a big reason she remains one of the most in-demand actors of her generation.
Her talents stretch beyond acting, too. She wrote, executive produced and starred in ‘The Bad Seed Returns’ in 2022, and she teamed up with Ice Nine Kills on a chart-topping collaboration for the ‘Scream 7’ soundtrack. Next up, she is set to play Daphne Blake in Netflix’s upcoming live-action ‘Scooby-Doo’ series.
With a major franchise release only weeks away and a packed fashion week behind her, the new photos feel like a fitting snapshot of where her career stands.
