Euphoria actress Nika King has reacted openly to her brief appearance in the show’s latest season.

In season three, episode six titled “Stand Still and See,” King returns as Leslie, the mother of Rue, played by Zendaya. The scene shows Rue speaking with her mother over the phone while dealing with difficult personal choices. Most of the moment is shown from Rue’s side, and viewers only briefly see Leslie at the other end of the call.

In that short appearance, King’s character only says one line, “I love you, Rue.” The moment was meant to be emotional, but it also stood out to fans because of how limited her screen time was in the episode.

After the episode aired, King responded on social media with humor and surprise. She said, “I just watched the episode that I’ve been promoting all week — and my mom over here is clowning me!” She explained that even her own family joked about how little she appeared on screen. She added, “She said the internet waited all this time for me to just say one line.”

King also mentioned her mother’s reaction during the video, where her mother pointed out the long gap between seasons. Her mother said, “three years,” referring to the time between season two in 2022 and the latest season.

King responded to the situation with laughter and acceptance. She said, “Y’all I can’t do nothing but laugh at this. When your mama clown you. I don’t know. You better be glad I have a sense of humor. You better be glad I’ve got thick skin.”

According to posts she later shared on Instagram, King also revealed that a longer version of her scene was filmed but did not make it into the final cut. She explained that seeing a Bible on set during filming had a strong personal impact on her. She wrote, “This scene didn’t make the cut but when I walked on set and saw this Bible on the table, I got emotional,” adding that it reminded her of difficult moments in her own life.

This is not the first time King has spoken about her role in the series. In earlier interviews and stand-up material from 2024, she joked about the long gaps between seasons and how it affected her financially.

Reports and reactions around King’s appearance continue to circulate online as fans discuss her limited but emotional return in the latest episode of Euphoria.
