Patrick Stewart Says That His Return to the MCU Is” A Possibility”

Before there was MCU, there was Fox’s X-Men Universe that brought to life some of our favorite mutants and their villains, and if there is one face forever associated with Professor X, it has to be Patrick Stewart. 

Patrick Stewart played him in the majority of movies until the character was killed halfway through ‘Logan, and we all thought that was goodbye and that Stewart was ready to retire the character, but we also thought as much for Wolverine, who also met demise during that same movie. 

In any case, Stewart returned in ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ as Professor X once again, and a member of the Illuminati at that, and he was once again killed by Scarlet Witch as she telepathcally snapped his neck.  

Now Professor X is canon to the MCU, at least to Earth-838, and since Multiverse is kind of a big deal in this phase, it’s expected that X-Men will jump to the mainline Universe in the next few projects. 

In a recent interview, Stewart was asked about the prospects of returning to the MCU, and he had an interesting answer to share. The host asked him whether he wanted to put the rumor of his return to the rest right now.

I cannot put it to rest because it’s not a fact either for or yes. It is a possibility. Hugh Jackman and I looked upon ‘Logan’ as being our farewell. Given that I died in that film. Although I’ve been told that I actually died a several times already.

So, in short, there is a massive chance that Stewart might return to the MCU, given the nature of his answer and the way he said it. As was mentioned in the caption of the video, the highest odds are that Stewart will return in ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’ which will be the key movie for merging several notable superhero groups in the MCU.
