Rumor: Jonathan Majors’ Victor Timely Might Not Be the Villain in ‘Loki’ Season 2

This year we watched two movies and one Disney+ show set in the Marvel Cinematic Unvierse. Now, we’re almost in the last quarter of 2023, and we’re looking forward to watching ‘Loki’ Season 2 on Disney+ and ‘The Marvels’ on the big screen. Tom Hiddleston’s God of Mischief returns in less than a week in the only live-action MCU series that was renewed for Season 2 so far.

‘Loki’ Season 1 ended with the death of Nathaniel Richards, aka He Who Remains, which opened the doors of the Multiverse and, therefore, set up the events of ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania,’ and the central storyline of the Multiverse Saga will now continue to unfold in ‘Loki’ Season 2 as we’re stepping towards the culmination of the saga in ‘Avengers: The Kang Dynasty.’

Jonathan Majors debuted in the MCU as Nathaniel Richards in ‘Loki,’ and he later portrayed Kang the Conqueror, one of Nathaniel’s variants, in ‘Quantumania.’ He’s now returning as Victor Timely, another variant, and although his MCU future is in question due to his legal problems, all the characters that Majors portrayed in the MCU so far are playing a key role in the Multiverse Saga.

Victor Timely rumored not to be a villain in ‘Loki’ Season 2

According to a known leaker, DanielRPK’s Patreon (via Taverna Marvel), Jonathan Majors’ Victor Timely will not be the main villain in ‘Loki’ Season 2. Quite the contrary, he won’t be a villain at all.

What we know about Timely for now is that his real name is also Nathaniel Richards. He comes from the 31st century (just like Nathaniel from the source material), but many names know his variants throughout space and time. Loki and Mobius will encounter Timely in the early 20th century, and the rest is up to ‘Loki’ Season 2 to show. Still, with so many variants, at least one of them might be a good guy.

Jonathan Majors portrayed two different characters in the MCU so far. Well, to be precise, two variants of the same character, and neither of them survived to see the end of their respective projects. However, the story of his characters is far from over since the mid-credit scene of ‘Quantumania’ teases the arrival of numerous Kang variants, while the post-credit scene leads directly into ‘Loki’ Season 2 by showing Victory Timely.

All the MCU projects that deal with Nathaniel Richards’ variants are vital pieces in the puzzle that Marvel Studios is building up ahead of the upcoming culmination of the Multiverse Saga. At San Diego Comic-Con 2022, Kevin Feige announced ‘Avengers: The Kang Dynasty,’ and ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’ as another two-part cinematic crossover event. However, these movies won’t be released before 2026 and 2027, respectively, so there’s plenty of time to see much more of Nathaniel’s variants before the culmination.

Developed by Eric Martin, ‘Loki’ Season 2 will premiere on October 5, 2023, and run for six episodes on Disney+. Tom Hiddleston, Owen Wilson, Sophia Di Martino, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, and Tara Strong are reprising their roles from the first season. Academy Award Winner Ke Huy Quan debuts in Season 2 as Ouroboros.

Are you looking forward to ‘Loki’ Season 2? Do you think Victor Timely will be a good guy or a villain?
