Rumor: The Return of Jane Foster’s “Mighty Thor” Teased
‘Thor: Love & Thunder’ is the latest installment in the ‘Thor’ movie series. Despite the movie featuring the grand return of Thor following ‘Endgame’ and a grand cast of characters, including a fairly-known villain from the comics, the movie wasn’t as successful as it was hoped, mostly due to its cringy humor and waste of a potentially magnificent storyline.
Still, one good thing came out of the movie, and that was Jane Foster’s Mighty Thor. As a reminder, Jane is sick with cancer, and in a last-ditch attempt to save her life, she starts wielding Mjolnir but gets more than she bargained for as she goes on on an epic adventure with Thor battling against Gorr the God Butcher, who has beef to settle with pretty much every god in the universe. But, the movie doesn’t have a cheery ending as its overall atmosphere seems to be, as Jane ultimately dies, and we can see her entering the famed Valhalla, something new awaiting her in the hall of heroes.
Now Alex P., a trustworthy leaker and a writer for The Cosmic Circus has teased her return on X.
His answer to a fairly straightforward question served to confuse the fans further. On one side, the reply implies directly that Jane Foster will be seen in the MCU again, possibly in the last installment of the ‘Multiverse Saga’ when all heroes will unite to fight against the “big villain.”
She might also be featured in a flashback scene or something similar featuring Valhalla, but probably not a major role – many fans would consider this to cheapen her death overall and the gravity of what took place in ‘Love & Thunder’ to be lost.
On the other hand, this is not the first time that Jane Foster’s return was rumored. When ‘Wonder Man’ solo project was announced, the villain Grim Reaper was also expected to debut in the MCU, and he did have numerous interactions with Jane Foster in the comics.
The third option for Jane Foster to make a return is the rumored ‘Thor 5’ movie. Nothing has been confirmed so far regarding the potential sequel to ‘Love & Thunder,’ but it did seem like Taika Waiti teased plans for a new villain in the potential movie in ‘Marvel’s Thor 4: Love and Thunder Movie Special Book,’ which was published in September this year.
