‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ Zendaya’s Sheer Alexander McQueen Moment In Amsterdam Is Stealing The Spotlight From The Trailer Itself
The ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ press tour has only just begun and it is already turning into one of the most talked about rollouts of the summer. Tom Holland and Zendaya kicked things off earlier this week with a stop in Madrid, trading in their usual low key off duty looks for full blown red carpet glamour. From there, the pair packed their bags and headed straight into the next major stop on the calendar.
That next stop was Amsterdam, where Sony staged a global fan event built around fan experiences, photo opportunities, and live entertainment at the Straat Museum. The night was designed to build toward a surprise reveal, and with tickets for the film having gone on sale earlier that same day, expectations for the evening were already running high before a single photo hit the internet.
Once those photos did land, though, it was not the trailer that immediately took over social media. Zendaya arrived in a fully sheer black micro minidress from Alexander McQueen, designed by Sean McGirr as part of the brand’s Fall 2026 collection, and the look spread across fan accounts within minutes.
The dress featured ivory white floral embroidery that cascaded diagonally across the bodice before flowing into an asymmetrical, ruffled hemline.
Layered over the dress was a heavy black coat with a high collar and an unfastened button front, finished with dramatic, oversized satin bell cuffs on the sleeves. A long panel of fabric trailed from the back of the piece, creating a sweeping train as Zendaya posed for the cameras. The overall effect leaned into a dark, romantic silhouette that still felt unmistakably modern.
Styling for the look came courtesy of Law Roach, Zendaya’s longtime collaborator and the architect behind many of her most memorable fashion moments. Her hair was styled in a short, glossy wave tucked behind the ears, paired with softly sculpted makeup, bronzed cheeks, and a muted lip that kept the focus on the dress itself. Tom Holland stood beside her in a tailored suit, keeping his own styling understated so the spotlight stayed on his co star and wife.
The choice also fit neatly into a pattern fans have started picking up on across this press tour. According to W Magazine, the couple leaned into a coordinated black and red color scheme during their Madrid stop, and that same visual thread carried through into the darker, more dramatic palette on display in Amsterdam. It is the kind of detail that fashion watchers love to track across a long promotional run.
Fashion moment aside, the Amsterdam event also delivered exactly what fans had been waiting for, a brand new trailer for ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’. The footage showed Peter Parker turning to Bruce Banner for help as he deals with a strange new physical transformation, while Jon Bernthal’s Punisher continued building on his presence from the film’s earlier marketing. The combination of street level grit and full blown Avengers firepower has fans more curious than ever about how all the pieces fit together.
With the trailer now out in the world and the press tour only just getting started, it is clear that both the fashion and the footage are going to keep fueling conversation right up until the film’s July 31 release. Whether fans show up more for Peter Parker’s next chapter or for whatever Zendaya wears next remains an open question.
