‘Terminator’ Stars Reunite Again in Texas, and Robert Patrick Has the Perfect Joke
Few movie reunions get fans as excited as one involving a hunted mother, a determined kid and a liquid-metal killer. This weekend, a group of ‘Terminator‘ stars gathered again in San Antonio, and the photo that followed spread quickly among franchise fans.
It is the kind of moment that makes a fan convention feel like a family reunion. And as it turns out, one of the franchise’s most feared villains had a very good line ready.
Big Texas Comicon took over the Henry B. González Convention Center in San Antonio from October 9 to 11. The guest list leaned heavily on the ‘Terminator’ franchise, with Linda Hamilton as the headliner for a Saturday-only appearance.
Michael Biehn, Edward Furlong and Robert Patrick were announced alongside her, and Gabriel Luna from ‘Terminator: Dark Fate’ was also listed among the guests. A ‘Terminator’ panel was scheduled for 3 p.m. on Saturday.

The result was a group photo of five ‘Terminator’ alumni posing in front of the convention’s bright yellow and blue Big Texas Comicon backdrop. The group stands shoulder to shoulder, smiling and relaxed, in a mix of jackets, denim and button-ups.
Patrick, who played the T-1000, captioned the moment with a joke. He said it was great seeing the ‘Terminator 2′ crew again, and he noted that nobody ran when he walked in, adding that it was progress. It is a perfect nod to the shape-shifting villain who spent a whole film hunting his co-stars’ characters.

The joke lands because of how iconic the roles are. In ‘Terminator 2: Judgment Day’, Hamilton played Sarah Connor, Furlong played a young John Connor and Patrick played the T-1000, the liquid-metal shape-shifter. Biehn played Kyle Reese, who died in the first film and got a flashback cameo in the sequel that was scrapped.
Fans have a long history of rallying around these actors. Seeing the original players grin together decades later reminds everyone how deeply the films resonate.
This is not the first time the group has come together this year. In August, Patrick shared a photo from the For the Love of Fantasy & Sci-Fi convention in London, which showed him reuniting with Hamilton, Furlong and Biehn. The snapshot arrived 35 years after the 1991 sequel opened, and fans were thrilled.
That earlier gathering was described as a rare reunion, and it set the tone for the weekend in Texas. With the anniversary year in full swing, conventions have become a natural meeting place for the cast.
San Antonio makes a fitting stage. Luna is an Austin native who landed his biggest break as the new Terminator in ‘Dark Fate’, much of which is set in Mexico and Texas.
Hamilton also returned to the franchise for that film, reprising Sarah Connor after a long absence, and she later brought her formidable presence to ‘Stranger Things’. Her Saturday appearance gave fans a chance to meet one of action cinema’s most celebrated heroines.

Fans who want to revisit the story can find ‘Terminator 2: Judgment Day’ streaming on Pluto TV and Paramount+. The film’s 35th anniversary has also sparked renewed interest in the franchise.
Conventions like Big Texas Comicon offer a rare chance to see the actors together in person. For many attendees, the autographs and photo ops are a way to connect with films that shaped their childhoods.
With photo opportunities, autographs and panels all part of the weekend, the cast seemed happy to indulge their fans. The warm, joking tone of the reunion photo suggests the group still enjoys each other’s company.
