Whatever we might think of it, one this is certain: DC Extended Universe is counting down its last months of existence. By the end of this year, we will watch the last three DCEU movies; ‘The Flash,’ ‘Blue Beetle,’ and ‘Aquaman 2.’ Co-CEO of DC Studios, James Gunn, is doing everything in his social media power to hype up the upcoming movie, The Flash, and the first reactions were very positive.

As we all know, the conclusion of DCEU will lead into the soft-reboot called DCU, which will kick off next year with the Creature Commandos animated series on MAX, and the first DCU movie will be ‘Superman: Legacy,’ written and directed by Gunn, which is set to be released in July 2025. When ‘Superman: Legacy’ was first announced, Gunn announced four more movies, one of them being ‘The Brave and the Bold,’ which will introduce a new Batman, played by a new actor, into DCU.

Andy Muschietti gives a cryptic answer about possibly directing The Brave and the Bold!

Unlike ‘Superman: Legacy,’ other upcoming DCU movies have no writers and directors attached at this moment. The only exception is ‘Swamp Thing,’ which will be written and directed by James Mangold, but we don’t have a clue about which filmmakers might be hired to develop ‘The Brave and the Bold,’ ‘Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow,’ and ‘The Authority.’

The fans have already started a debate on who they would like to direct ‘The Brave and the Bold,’ and Andy Muschietti, who directed ‘The Flash,’ was also one of the mentioned names. Narcity recently asked the director if he would be up to directing The Brave and the Bold, and Muschietti replied: “I don’t think I can talk to that… yet.”

DC Fans Are Already Discussing Who Should Direct ‘The Brave and the Bold’

Suppose Andy Muschietti’s first DC movie, ‘The Flash,’ achieves a satisfying critical and commercial result as DC Studios and WBD are expecting since they really need a win after the commercial failures of ‘Black Adam’ and ‘Shazam Fury of the Gods.’ In that case, James Gunn and Peter Safran would likely love to work with the Argentine filmmaker again.

Andy Muschietti gained wide recognition by directing a two-part adaptation of Stephen King’s novel ‘It,’ starring Bill Skarsgård as Pennywise. Warner Bros. later hired Muschietti to direct ‘The Flash,’ which was initially announced in 2014 but went through countless circles of development hell before the good script, written by Christina Hodson, was found.

Starring Ezra Miller, Sasha Calle, Michael Keaton, Michael Shannon, Ron Livingston, Maribel Verdú, Kiersey Clemons, Antje Traue, and Ben Affleck, ‘The Flash’ movie is set to be released worldwide on June 16, 2023.
