Laëtitia Hollard recently shared a surprising behind-the-scenes moment from the set of HBO Max’s hit medical drama “The Pitt,” revealing that co-star Noah Wyle stepped in to help after she accidentally injured herself during filming. According to Hollard, the moment felt so real that it was almost like Wyle had fully turned into his character Dr. Robby.

Speaking on Warner Bros. TV’s podcast A Lot More, Hollard explained that the accident happened while filming an early scene in the crowded emergency room set. Her character Emma Nolan was supposed to grab a notebook while moving through the busy control hub, but things did not go as planned.

Hollard said she had to squeeze past Wyle several times during the scene while cameras rolled. At first, she barely noticed she was hitting her elbow against part of the set. Then the production prepared for another take, and she suddenly spotted what she thought was fake blood on a counter nearby.

“I literally say to someone, ‘Who left fake blood here?’” Hollard recalled during the podcast interview. That was when Wyle quickly realized something was wrong and told her, “I think you nicked yourself.”

When she looked down, Hollard realized her elbow was actually bleeding badly.

Instead of panicking, Wyle reportedly reacted immediately. Hollard said the actor calmly reassured her and joked that she was lucky to get hurt in the middle of a set filled with medical professionals.

“Noah was like, ‘Don’t worry, this is the best place for this to happen,’” she explained. Hollard added that Wyle suddenly felt exactly like his character from the series. “He became like Dr. Robby.”

According to Hollard, Wyle personally grabbed medical supplies and started helping her before the actual set medic even arrived. “He brought me to a corner, he brought out the gauze, the disinfectant. I was like, ‘Wait, I’m in The Pitt right now,’” she joked.

The actress said the situation became even funnier once a real nurse eventually walked by. Wyle reportedly stepped back and admitted, “Not me. I’m pretending.”

The story quickly caught attention online because Wyle has spent decades playing doctors on television, from “ER” to “The Pitt.” Fans loved hearing how naturally he handled the situation, especially since “The Pitt” focuses heavily on realistic emergency room chaos and medical cases.

“The Pitt” premiered on HBO Max in January 2025 and became one of the platform’s biggest drama hits. The series later picked up major awards attention and earned a second season renewal. Showrunner R. Scott Gemmill recently teased that future episodes could explore the hospital’s night shift, opening the door for even more intense stories moving forward.
