Season 4 of ‘Invincible’ on Amazon Prime Video has pushed its power scaling into genuinely breathtaking territory. The Viltrumite War has arrived in full force, and with it comes the most violent showcase of what this alien species is truly capable of.

The Viltrumites have always been the measuring stick for everything powerful in the ‘Invincible’ universe. Nolan Grayson himself explains to Mark that the Viltrumites are among the strongest species in the known universe, a claim that mostly holds true across both the comics and the animated series. But within that terrifyingly elite group, there is a hierarchy worth understanding.

The Viltrumite Power Hierarchy and What Makes the Species Dominant

Not every warrior born on Viltrum is created equal, and the show has made that abundantly clear. High-ranking Viltrumites such as Lucan, Kregg, Kradd, Thula, Vidor, and Elix occupy the upper tier of standard Viltrumite warriors, though they are ultimately outmatched once elite members engage at full capacity.

Viltrumite biology is actively hostile to foreign organisms, with their immune system so aggressive that parasitic life forms like Sequids are incapable of inhabiting or controlling a Viltrumite host. That physical superiority extends to their combat performance, which is staggering even at the lower ranks.

Every surviving Viltrumite represents the strongest of the strongest beings in the universe, given that the species purged all but 50 of their number through ritual slaughter and the deadly Scourge Virus. Simply surviving those events is itself a testament to overwhelming power.

Thula, Lucan, and Vidor are introduced in Season 2 defeating Allen the Alien before hunting Omni-Man, and they massacre the Thraxan populace with terrifying ease before Omni-Man and Mark are forced to intervene. They represent the floor of what a dangerous Viltrumite looks like.

Conquest and Anissa: The Viltrumite Elite Tier

Standing well above the standard ranks are two names that fans of both the comics and the show know to fear. Conquest’s battle with Mark in the Season 3 finale was brutal, with the villain toying with the hero, injuring Mark, taking Oliver out of action, and essentially killing Atom Eve before she resurrected herself. His defeat came not from weakness but from his desire for a challenge.

Conquest has lived for thousands of years with the sole objective of conquering planets to bring them under the heel of the Viltrum Empire, always sent out alone and always returning bloodied, though it is never his blood. His age alone makes him a biological powerhouse by Viltrumite standards.

Anissa is widely recognized as the strongest female Viltrumite and is noted for her exceptional speed, even among the most experienced members of the species. Her introduction in the series immediately establishes a threat level that few characters can match.

As of the current season, Anissa is ranked among the third strongest surviving Viltrumite, and she put up a fierce fight against Omni-Man during the Viltrumite War, proving she was not far behind him in raw capability. She remains one of the most dangerous presences in the entire show.

Thaedus and Omni-Man: Legends Within the Viltrumite Ranks

Thaedus is an older Viltrumite, which biologically makes him stronger and more battle-tested than other members of his species, and after witnessing his people’s descent into violence and madness, he assassinated the previous Viltrumite Emperor Argall before escaping the planet with his life. That single act tells you everything about his power.

In the Invincible comics, Thaedus is an active and brutally effective combatant in the Viltrumite War, and the combined strength of himself, Mark, and Nolan was enough to destroy the planet Viltrum entirely. His reputation as the founder of the Coalition of Planets only adds to the weight of his legend.

Omni-Man is easily one of the strongest Viltrumites in existence, though what separates him from his kin is compassion for others, a trait that the species does not value and one that has sometimes worked against him. His emotional evolution makes him a fascinating outlier in the Viltrumite hierarchy.

Nolan is considered one of the few Viltrumites to survive an encounter with the Rognarr, which puts into perspective his extraordinary standing even among a species full of extraordinary warriors. He remains one of the most complete fighters the Viltrum Empire has ever produced.

Grand Regent Thragg and the Undisputed Throne of Viltrumite Strength

At the very top of the hierarchy sits a name that casts a shadow over every other entry on this list. Thragg was genetically engineered to be the most powerful member of the Viltrumite race, growing up in a distinguished household on Viltrum with access to advanced training that, combined with his once-in-multiple-generations genetic makeup, allows him to stand far above his peers.

Among all Viltrumites, Thragg is widely regarded as the strongest to ever exist, with his combat skill and battlefield dominance placing him functionally above every other member of the species. That reputation has been earned through a body of work that is as terrifying as it is extensive.

There is not much to say about Grand Regent Thragg’s power level beyond the fact that he is basically written to be unbeatable by anyone except Mark Grayson, representing the biggest of the series’ big bads almost by default. He is the ceiling of what the Viltrumite species can produce.

Mark’s unique physiology as the first known Viltrumite-Human hybrid grants him heightened adaptability, emotional depth, and accelerated growth potential absent in pure-blooded Viltrumites, giving him a developmental trajectory unlike anyone else in the species. Whether that eventually places him above Thragg is the central dramatic question that ‘Invincible’ is building toward, and the answer may define the entire series.
