Two Beloved Anime Franchises Set to Team Up for the First Time
Solo Leveling: ARISE is teaming up with Frieren in an official crossover, and fans are already excited to see what this unusual pairing will bring.
The announcement was shared on X by @SLANewsEN, confirming that the two popular fantasy worlds will collide later this month.
Solo Leveling is known for its fast-paced combat and the story of Sung Jinwoo, a lone hero taking on monsters with immense power.
Frieren, on the other hand, takes a slower, more reflective approach, exploring magic, mortality, and the quiet moments after an adventure ends. Bringing these two styles together makes this crossover more than just a fun event—it’s a creative experiment that blends action-heavy gameplay with emotional storytelling.

According to fans and insiders, the crossover might allow players to control Frieren in Solo Leveling: ARISE, along with other characters such as Fern, Stark, or Himmel. “There are so many unanswered questions, in a good way, and so many avenues that could be their own story,” Chris Appelhans, a creator involved in the project, told People. Fans are eager to see how Frieren’s calm, magical abilities will interact with Jinwoo’s shadow powers in the game.
The crossover also makes thematic sense. Both Solo Leveling and Frieren deal with isolation. Jinwoo’s life as humanity’s strongest hunter mirrors Frieren’s loneliness as an immortal elf separated from her friends. This temporary meeting of worlds could show how strength and solitude often exist side by side.
The announcement has sparked plenty of speculation online about what stories and interactions might emerge from the crossover. Fans are excited not only for the gameplay possibilities but also for seeing two very different approaches to fantasy come together in one experience.
