Are George Clooney’s Batman movies connected? What’s the best order to watch them?

The movies where George Clooney portrays Batman are not connected, meaning they are perfectly watchable as standalone movies, independently of one another. The reason for this is that ‘Batman and Robin’ is considered to be a standalone sequel to Burton’s Batman movies.

In ‘The Flash,’ George Clooney has just a brief cameo whose purpose was to indicate that Barry Allen messed with the timeline again, but the movie’s storyline is in no way connected with ‘Batman and Robin.’ The only connection is George Clooney as Batman. So, the best way to watch these two movies is by their release date.

George Clooney’s Batman movies, in chronological order

It’s worth mentioning that the release and chronological orders are the same when it comes to George Clooney’s Batman movies. The storyline in ‘Batman & Robin’ happens around 25 years before the events in ‘The Flash,’ so, logically, it is best to watch these movies that way.

‘Batman & Robin’ is a part of four ‘Batman’ movie series directed by Joel Schumacher. In the movie, Batman and Robin continue their journey of protecting Gotham, and this time, their main opponent is Mr. Freeze/Victor Fries. He was a cryogenicist whose wife, Nora, got terminally ill, so he cryogenically froze her and went in pursuit of the cure. Victor also had a cryogenic suit and needed diamonds to power it, and he also planned to freeze the whole of Gotham.

Poison Ivy and Bane also have their own agenda to create trouble in Gotham. Batman and Robin team up with Catwoman to stop them all, but they don’t have an easy task in doing so.

In ‘The Flash, ‘ several Batmans appear, and that is because Barry Allen figured out how to time travel and used that ability recklessly with the intent to prove his father’s innocence. All of that created deviations in the timeline and various multiverses intertwined. George Clooney appears in a cameo at the movie’s end to demonstrate that Barry messed up the timeline again. Other than that, his role in the movie is insignificant.

Where to watch the above-mentioned movies?

You can purchase or rent ‘Batman & Robin’ on the Amazon Prime Video platform, Google Play Movies, YouTube, Vudu, Microsoft Store, DIRECTV, and Redbox. ‘The Flash’ movie is available to stream on Max, and you’ll need an active subscription on the platform.

Will there be more George Clooney’s Batman movies?

Even though fans were hoping that a brief cameo in ‘The Flash’ might suggest George Clooney’s return as Batman in the upcoming ‘Batman: The Brave and The Bold,’ that won’t be the case, and it is questionable if the renowned actor will ever portray The Dark Knight again.
