‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Just Unveiled Its Insane Doctor Doom Popcorn Bucket
Collectible concessions have become a blockbuster ritual of their own. Moviegoers now line up for buckets, cups, and bags shaped like their favorite characters, and studios have noticed. Anticipation for an ‘Avengers: Doomsday‘ popcorn bucket has been simmering for months.
Back in December, fans were already passing around a Doctor Doom bucket concept created by artist Bosslogic, which pulled in hundreds of thousands of views on X. Since then, social media has been flooded with fan-made designs, from mask busts to gauntlets and goblets. The wait, it seems, is nearly over.
On September 27, the X account Buy Physical Media shared a first look at a Doctor Doom popcorn bucket for ‘Avengers: Doomsday,’ and MCU Film News then amplified the post. It’s the same account behind the AMC popcorn “butter” post that went viral this weekend with millions of views. The image shows Doom rendered as a bust against a swirl of green lightning.
The bucket covers Doom from the hood down to the belt. It features the silver mask with glowing green eyes, a square-patterned green tunic, a chain strung between two shoulder medallions, and the cape behind it. It is a comic-accurate design that matches how the character has looked in earlier promotional material.

As with most early concession leaks, key details remain a mystery. The original post doesn’t reveal which theater chain will carry the bucket or when it will go on sale. No price has been mentioned either.
Not everyone was sold on the full-torso approach. One fan replying to the post asked why the bucket includes Doom’s body instead of just the head with the mask and hood. That is the kind of debate that usually follows a first look at any collectible.
The same post included an update for horror fans. Buy Physical Media said it spoke with the company that produced the viral ‘Resident Evil’ bag, which may make more due to popular demand. That comment speaks to just how hungry audiences currently are for novelty movie merchandise.
It also hints at where concession merchandise is headed. Oddball collectibles now spread as fast as trailers do. A well-designed bucket can turn into free advertising.

The timing couldn’t be better for Marvel’s marketing machine. Marvel has spent the past week teasing Doom’s presence at the movies, including an ‘Endgame Encore’ poster released on September 25. It shows the villain sitting in a theater seat, holding a red nano gauntlet full of popcorn under the words “Doom Shall Attend.” Robert Downey Jr. shared the artwork too.
‘Endgame Encore’ is currently playing with new scenes that set up the next Avengers chapter. That gives Marvel a built-in audience for teasers and merchandise. A bucket reveal fits neatly into that rollout.
The bucket joins a growing collection of Doom-themed products. Earlier merchandise included keychains, socks, and wallets, as well as a Hasbro Titan Series action figure of Downey’s Doom in the classic green outfit. UK retailer Menkind also listed a Marvel Avengers Doomsday 12 Days Socks Advent Calendar, priced at £30.
The Russo brothers have called Downey’s Doom costume their favorite from the entire MCU. That confidence helps explain why so much of the marketing has leaned on the look. The green hood, silver mask, and armor have become the film’s visual signature.
The film itself carries enormous weight. ‘Avengers: Doomsday,’ directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, hits theaters on December 18, 2026, and brings heroes from three universes together to face Doom’s threat. Downey plays Victor von Doom after an 11-year stint as Tony Stark, and ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’ is set to follow on December 17, 2027.
The popcorn bucket is ultimately a spotlight for one of the most audacious casting swings in Marvel history. Turning the MCU’s biggest new villain into a snack container is a fitting sign of how big the event has become. If the response is anything to go by, the bucket could be sold out fast.
