Venom 3‘ is right on the horizon. The first movie, starring Tom Hardy and Michelle Williams, started the franchise with a bang that was very much a surprise. The first film felt like a throwback to those early X-Men films from the early 2000s, and while it wasn’t very good in the end, it was fun. People’s curiosity really managed to win in the end, making the film a success at the box office. The second film was a more strange case, this time directed by Andy Serkis. The film just didn’t live up to expectations. And by being released during the pandemic period, it couldn’t come close to the previous film’s performance at the box office.

Can ‘Venom 3’ go back to the success of the first film? We know very little about the third Venom film, but it seems like it will be another curiosity, just like the first film. The film will mark Kelly Marcel’s debut on the director’s chair; who has served the franchise as a writer until now.

A new rumor might have leaked the presence of Chiwetel Ejiofor in the film. Ejiofor is one of the most respected actors in the industry, especially after his performance in the brutal ’12 Years A Slave’ film. However, he isn’t new to superhero films. He has played the role of Mordo in the MCU movies, but it seems like that character has become an afterthought in the current MCU timeline.

And so it makes sense for Ejiofor to find some new roles somewhere else. This time, the rumor says that Eijofor would be playing Orwell Taylor, a character that is very much a Venom villain. Taylor was a former general in the USA’s Army, and after his son’s death at Venom’s hands, he reunites a team of individuals who will help him hunt and bring Venom to justice.

Taylor’s team, named, The Jury, is a sort of Sinister Six for Venom, and it will finally put the character through the wringer in terms of scale, action, and stakes. The previous films lacked this somehow, but it seems Marcel is taking her move to the director’s chair very seriously. Which is great.

This rumor doesn’t only give us an idea of the new actors that we will see in the film but also an idea of where the story is going. It feels like the movie is taking some pointers from the ‘Spider-Man 2’ video game that will release in October on PlayStation 5. In that game, Venom also appears alongside Kraven The Hunter, one of the most famous hunters in the Spider-Man Universe. Kraven is getting his own movie, so it seems like Marcel has chosen to take the same concept but use Taylor as his antagonist for the film. It actually sounds pretty good, and it will make for a very exciting film if done right.

What do you think of Ejiofor’s rumored casting in the film? Do you think Orwell Taylor will be a good villain for Venom?
