Doomsday vs. Darkseid: Who Would Win in a Fight?
The DC Universe boasts of some of the most powerful beings, and perhaps none are more prominent than Doomsday and Darkseid. Both are popular Superman antagonists that have gone up against The Man of Steel several times. Very few beings are capable of battling Superman and standing a chance, but these two would arguably give Supes a run for his money. While Doomsday and Darkseid differ, one wonders who would win in a fight between them.
Doomsday would win in a fight against Darkseid. He is stronger, faster, and more invulnerable to physical harm than Darkseid. Even if Darkseid managed to kill him, Doomsday could regenerate and come back immune to what killed him before.
This article will pit both of these characters’ powers and abilities against each other to see who would be the likely victor in a fight between them. So stay tuned for all this!
Strength
Doomsday is one of the characters in the DC Universe who possesses unlimited strength. The exact magnitude of his strength remains unclear, but he is significantly stronger than Kryptonians. He has an extremely high muscular density that allows him to perform extraordinary feats of strength.
For example, he nearly punched Supergirl’s face off, broke Wonder Woman’s arm with a single blow, punched Superman into a coma, and broke out of the Phantom Zone using brute force. He’s strong enough to go up against and defeat entire teams of super beings like the Justice League and Green Lantern Corps.
Thanks to his New God physiology, Darkseid is no pushover when it comes to strength, though he rarely resorts to brute force. His strength level can rival that of a Kryptonian, which is saying something. While we rarely see his strength on display, he has performed incredible feats of strength on several occasions.
These include easily destroying Green Lantern constructs, preventing open portals from closing using his bare hands, defeating multiple super-beings at once, and going toe-to-toe with Superman.
While Darkseid is strong in his own right, he in no way compares to Doomsday, whose forte is brute force.

Speed
For his stocky figure, Doomsday has incredible speed that, alongside his brute force, grants him an advantage in combat. He can move, react and respond at incredible superhuman speeds. It’s stated that he could traverse the solar system in a matter of seconds.
Doomsday was able to tag the Flash out of a race, keep up with Superman’s pace, who can move faster than light, dodge blows from Maxima, and keep up with the entire Justice League with one arm behind his back.
Like his strength, Darkseid doesn’t rely as much on his super speed. But he is capable of moving at speeds far greater than human comprehension. Even when not fully powered, he was able to keep up with Zeus’ combat speed. Wonder Woman claimed she hadn’t ever witnessed anyone battling at the speeds the two were fighting at. While he isn’t as fast as Superman or the Flash, he can still hold his own in a fight against such speedsters.
Darkseid is fast, but he’d have difficulty keeping up with Doomsday, who can keep up with an incredibly fast Superman.

Intelligence
Doomsday can be described as a mindless killing machine wired for nothing more than carnage. He was created to kill anything that crosses his path, and this is usually evident thanks to his reliance on brute strength.
A Genius-Level intellect is perhaps Darkseid’s greatest asset. Even before embarking on a mission to fight Doomsday, he’d use his intelligence to ensure he was the victor. Even the greatest minds in the DC Universe wouldn’t stand a chance against his intellect. He can create highly advanced tech to give him an advantage if need be.
He can also perceive all cause-and-effect relations, allowing him to plan and execute his actions efficiently. To be able to rule over a whole army and a planet like Apokolips means Darkseid possesses a vast intellect.
Darkseid easily wins this round. It’s safe to say his intelligence would go a long way in helping him defeat Doomsday.

Invulnerability
There is perhaps none as invulnerable to physical harm in the DC Universe as Doomsday. After centuries of evolution on the planet Krypton, Doomsday became incredibly resistant to any harm. Military weapons like bullets, bombs, missiles, rockets, and laser beams are useless against him.
Moreover, thanks to his reactive adaptation, he cannot be killed by the same means twice. When something kills him, he can regenerate and return immune to what had previously killed him. For example, when Superman punched him to death, he returned immune to Supes’ blows. Doomsday is so durable that he withstood Darkseid’s immensely powerful Omega Beams.
Darkseid is incredibly invulnerable in his own right. He can withstand extreme bodily harm, and things like bullets, missiles, lasers, and other weapons cannot harm him. While he can be harmed, it’s extremely difficult to do so. He has survived the destruction of a planet, withstood blows from heavy hitters like Superman, and remained unfazed by the combined onslaught of the Justice League.

Combat skills
Doomsday isn’t much of a combat expert, as he is most well known for relying on his incredible strength to defeat his opponents. While his lack of combat knowledge may be a disadvantage, he makes up for it by brawling with his opponents, and this usually works most of the time.
Darkseid rarely resorts to physical combat. But this doesn’t mean he isn’t a deadly fighter, highly skilled in the art of combat. Far from it! As the leader of an entire army, he has fought entire planets and decimated entire armies. He’s defeated Zeus and Asmodel, two of DC’s greatest combatants, and even gone toe-to-toe against Superman and Wonder Woman.
Darkseid wins this round as he’s the better combatant.

Doomsday vs. Darkseid: Who wins?
In an all-out fight between these two DC powerhouses, Doomsday would very likely be the victor. For starters, he is stronger than Darkseid and can brutalize him with minimal effort. In addition, Doomsday is faster than Darkseid and can therefore react at an incredible pace to the latter’s attacks.
Doomsday also has peak invulnerability, much more than Darkseid, which would ensure he isn’t rendered incapable of fighting if injured. Perhaps Darkseid’s biggest asset in this fight would be his reactive adaptation which allows him to regenerate when killed, immune to what caused his death in the first place.
So, even though Darkseid is more intelligent and a better combatant, my bet is on Doomsday to win the fight.
