Black Widow is one of the most popular Marvel characters, and despite not having conventional superhuman abilities such as elemental powers, or the ability to project energy, she is known to be quite a dangerous enemy. We know that speed is sometimes vital in the superhero world, and Black Widow proved on numerous instances that she could move with incredible grace. But how fast is she? Due to that, we decided to explore Natasha’s character in a bit more detail and compare her with other fast characters in Marvel Universe. Let’s see how fast Black Widow is.

Black Widow, aka Natasha Romanoff, can, on average, reach speeds between 32-36 miles per hour. This is not significant as there are numerous characters in Marvel’s Universe far faster than that. Black Widow was enhanced with the Soviet version of Super Soldier serum, and due to that, she has increased speed but not by much. Her speed can be compared to the speed of other enhanced humans such as Captain America, Black Panther, and Daredevil.

Now that we’ve covered that Black Widow is not that fast at all, it’s time to analyze why in more detail. If you’re interested in more and you want to know how she compares to other similar characters, stay with us and keep reading!

Black Widow received a Red Room version of the Super Soldier Serum

Despite starting her superhero career as a villain, Black Widow is more similar to Captain America than you would have thought. Despite not having any superhuman abilities, Black Widow proved on numerous instances that she is among the most lethal assassins in the Marvel Universe. Her skills are the result of years of training, including being trained in the Soviet Red Room program, where she was taught a variety of combat techniques, espionage, and assassination skills.

During her Red Room training, she likewise received a Soviet version of the Super Soldier Serum that greatly enhanced her human physiology, allowing her to be stronger, faster, and more durable than the average human. Although she is not superhuman, she can be classified as an enhanced human, just like Captain America.

Speaking of Natasha’s speed, she is not that fast when compared to most Marvel Characters, especially superhumans. She can, however, outperform even the finest human athletes as she is capable of reaching speeds between 32-36 mph. Her reflexes and reaction times are likewise greatly increased, which is in part due to the serum and partially due to her years of extensive training. Black Widow is considered to be among the finest combatants in Marvel Comic Universe.

Despite not having superhuman speed at her disposal, occasionally, she did manage to match the speeds of characters far faster than her, such as Overtime, and Blur, although this is considered to be an anomaly.

Black Widow overtime

Now that we’ve covered Black Widow’s physical abilities, it’s time to compare her to other Marvel characters.

Is Black Widow faster than Captain America?

Captain America running speed

Captain America, like Natasha Romanoff, was experimented upon, which resulted in him gaining superhuman physiology. He is not as powerful as his other superpowered team members, but he is still vastly more capable than an average human in strength, speed, and durability.

Black Widow and Captain America are a perfect matchup if we compare her to somebody because both are “discount” superhumans, both being slightly more enhanced and boasting a wide range of combat skills. In terms of speed, Captain America can move on average at speeds up to 35 miles per hour, even though he was at one point known to be able to reach up to 60 miles per hour.

Even though it looks like Captain America is slightly faster than Black Widow, she is likewise capable of extraordinary speeds on some occasions, and due to that, the race between Captain America and Black Widow would be a draw.

How fast is Black Widow when compared to Black Panther?

Story of Black Panther

Black Panther is not among the strongest or fastest characters in the Marvel Universe. However, he can run at speeds up to 35 miles per hour, faster than the finest human athletes, and up to 41-45 miles per hour under extreme circumstances. While his running speed is not remarkable for a superhero, his combat speed and agility are exceptional. Black Panther is one of the greatest hand-to-hand fighters in the Marvel Universe and can punch faster than the eye can follow and dodge bullets.

It’s evident that Black Panther and Black Widow can move at pretty much the same speeds, but during combat, I have no doubt that Black Panther would prove to be far superior. He would be able to land several hits on Black Widow and evade her deadly counterattacks before she could properly react.

Black Widow is slightly faster than Daredevil

daredevil nicknames featured

Daredevil does have superhuman abilities, but they are mostly tied to his senses and his ability to project 3D images inside his head despite being blind. Daredevil, like pretty much every superhero on this list, is considered to be crazy skilled in terms of combat and has extensive training related to it. However, he is still not superhuman when it comes to his physiology and can only deliver what his human body can deliver.

He can reach orbital velocity speeds. Such speeds even allow him to fly over short distances. He likewise once ran from Tibet to Indonesia in a few seconds.
