Is “The Teen” in ‘Agatha All Along’ Wanda’s or Agatha’s Son?

‘Agatha All Along’ finally premiered with the first two episodes, delivering exactly what fans following the marketing had hoped for. The show embraces its campy charm, effortlessly mixing witchcraft, pop culture references, and humor. With a solid foundation, it keeps viewers entertained just enough to stay hooked and wonder if Agatha might be headed for a Loki-style redemption arc.

Now already in the first two episodes, the show teased several mysteries, and one of them is the identity of Joe Locke’s character, the Teen.

Now the most popular theory is that The Teen is actually Billy Kaplan aka Billy Maximoff aka Wiccan from the comics. This theory is supported by the fact that the subtitles from one of the show’s teasers referred to him as such.

The only issue with this theory is the fact that Billy is supposed to be dead as both he and his brother disintegrated as Wanda made peace with Vision’s death. The show can easily neatly smooth out this plot hole by the fact that Scarlet Witch’s spell, initially targeted to trap Agatha, accidentally brought him to life for real.

Or the Teen is actually aware of his “nature” and is attempting to walk the Witches’ Road in order to gain life or become real, in a true Wizard of Oz fashion, and then, to rescue his mother.

The show is obviously trying to keep his identity hidden for as long as possible, the main evidence of this being some kind of a dark spell that keeps everyone including the audience unable to understand anything related to his past.

Now the second theory, with a lot less evidence, is that the Teen is actually Agatha’s son. In one of the scenes, before Agatha remembers who she is, she visits a room in her house that looks like a children’s room with a lot of occult imagery. We can see a name in the room “Nicholas Scratch.”

In the comics, Nicholas is Agatha’s son and they have a troubled history, to say the least. They were both part of New Salem, a secretive town of witches and warlocks hidden from the world. Agatha was the town’s original leader. Nicholas’s name combines elements from English folklore, specifically “Old Nick” and “Mr. Scratch,” which are alternative names for the Devil.

Scratch betrayed his mother after she left New Salem to live a normal life. Nicholas led a group that abducted Agatha and nearly executed her. Although Agatha was rescued and New Salem turned against Nicholas, he was eventually exiled to the Dark Realm.

There, he became a servant of Dormammu, aiming to become the Sorcerer Supreme. Recently, Nicholas allied with Mephisto, Marvel’s equivalent of the Devil, and Mephisto is heavily rumored to be included in ‘Agatha All Along,’ and the show already dropped some hints that Blackheart might be present as well.

But as I’ve already stated, this theory is unlikely considering that Agatha’s son is most likely her pet rabbit Senor Scratchy, who was featured heavily in the first two episodes despite being “just a pet.”
