‘Justice League’ Star Amber Heard (40) Shows Off Rock-Hard Abs at the Finish Line of Her First Half Marathon
Hollywood comebacks usually come with a red carpet, a trailer drop or a magazine cover. Amber Heard’s latest milestone came with a race bib and a finisher’s medal instead.
The ‘Aquaman’ actress has spent the last few years living far from the spotlight, building a quieter life in Spain. She only shares occasional glimpses on Instagram, so every post gets plenty of attention when it appears.
Her newest update is a big one. On Monday, October 5, Heard revealed she had completed her first half marathon in Donostia-San Sebastián, in Spain’s Basque Country, finishing the 21.1-kilometer race in 1 hour and 39 minutes.
Heard shared 3 photos from the race. One shows her in full stride, another captures her walking near the finish line, and the most striking one shows her with her arms raised behind her head, laughing with her eyes closed and her head thrown back.
She wore a lilac sports bra with matching bike shorts, a lilac running belt, pale pink socks and running shoes, with her blonde hair pulled up and a red patterned scarf tucked at her side. In another shot, a medal hangs around her neck as she stands on the wet road in front of a finish-line banner.
Her caption thanked the host city in Basque, using the phrase eskerrik asko, which means thank you very much. She also added her distance and finishing time, and for a relatively new runner, finishing in under 1 hour and 40 minutes is a strong result.
The half marathon more than doubles the distance of her first race. In June, Heard completed Madrid’s KLM Norte Sur 10K, which she marked on Instagram with a photo cradling her 5-year-old daughter, Oonagh, after the finish.
She has said running is a favorite way to relieve stress, and she has often been photographed jogging around Madrid. Her fans have noticed that the sport has become a bigger part of her life since the move.
Heard moved to Spain in 2022, first settling in Majorca before relocating to Madrid with her family. Reports say she left California for more privacy after the intense media scrutiny that followed her high-profile defamation trial with ex-husband Johnny Depp.
She is a mother of three. She welcomed Oonagh in 2021 and announced the arrival of twins, daughter Agnes and son Ocean, on Mother’s Day in 2025.
Her last acting credits date back to 2023, including a brief appearance in ‘Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom’ and the thriller ‘In the Fire,’ which premiered at the Taormina Film Festival in Italy. Since then, she has shared only occasional glimpses of her life, from a dinner at a three-Michelin-star restaurant to park days with her children.
Many fans and media outlets noted how different this update looks from the images that dominated her coverage in recent years. Rather than a courtroom or a premiere, the setting was a finish line in a Spanish city, with Heard celebrating an achievement that was entirely her own.
It also shows how far she has taken her new hobby. With a 10K and now a half marathon behind her, there is plenty of speculation about what distance comes next.
