Marvel Stars Paul Bettany, Robert Downey Jr. & Tom Hiddleston Present ‘VisionQuest’ First Teaser
Marvel Studios gave fans an early look at VisionQuest during Disney’s Upfront presentation, with Paul Bettany, Robert Downey Jr., and Tom Hiddleston appearing on stage to introduce the teaser.
According to information shared at the event, the series is set to premiere on October 14, on Disney+ and continues the story of Vision following the events of earlier Marvel projects.
The teaser focused on Bettany’s character, Vision, in his “White Vision” form as he tries to make sense of his identity. In the footage, he is shown watching fragments of his past memories like scenes from a film. This version of Vision was rebuilt by S.W.O.R.D. after the events of WandaVision, and he now has access to memories he does not emotionally understand yet.
The presentation also confirmed the return of James Spader as Ultron. He appears both as a voice and in human-like form in the teaser. Ultron is shown mocking Vision and bringing up Vision’s connection to Tommy Maximoff, also known as Speed. The character of Tommy briefly appears in the footage, adding more connection to the Maximoff family storyline.
During the event, Bettany also spoke about the concept behind the series. He explained that Vision’s mind is not calm or empty, but filled with stored artificial intelligences and memories. In his words, “One of the things that’s fun about that is that we finally get to see what it’s like inside Vision’s mind, and it’s more cluttered than you would think.” He also explained that Vision has been preserving different AIs inside himself, which now influence his thoughts and emotions.
The cast includes several returning MCU AI characters and new roles tied to Vision’s journey. Alongside Bettany as Vision and Spader as Ultron, the series features Ruaridh Mollica as Tommy Maximoff / Speed, T’Nia Miller as Jocasta, Emily Hampshire as E.D.I.T.H., Orla Brady as F.R.I.D.A.Y., James D’Arcy as J.A.R.V.I.S., Henry Lewis as D.U.M.-E, Jonathan Sayer as U, and Todd Stashwick as Paladin. Faran Tahir also returns as Raza, a character first seen in Iron Man.
The series continues the story of Vision after his rebirth as a memory-filled android struggling to understand who he is. The show explores his internal conflict, especially his relationship with Ultron, who now exists alongside other AIs inside Vision’s mind.
The project is led by showrunner Terry Matalas and is part of Marvel’s Phase Six lineup. Production began in 2025 at Pinewood Studios in London and continued through the summer, with multiple directors working across different episodes.
Marvel Studios confirmed that VisionQuest will consist of eight episodes and will act as a continuation of Vision’s storyline across previous MCU films and series, expanding his connection to both AI characters and the larger Marvel universe.
