Marvel Studios has plenty of projects in the making, even after it was announced by Iger that they plan on significantly reducing their output. One of the most anticipated projects it’s certainly an ‘X-Men’ live-action reboot.

The reboot has been in plans ever since Disney took control of Fox properties X-Men and Fantastic Four. Now we don’t know whether the rumor we have for you is tied specifically to the X-Men reboot but it certainly sounds like that.

Namely, according to MyTimeToShineHello Marvel Studios is looking to nab Dwayne The Rock Johnson to play notable X-Men villain, Apocalypse. Apocalypse has was already adapted to screen for ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ played by Oscar Isaac, and since he is already playing Moon Knight in the MCU, it’s understandable why they simply can’t rehash the actor.

The Rock is also no stranger to superhero roles, who can forget his recent ‘Black Adam’ release? Despite Black Adam being portrayed nearly perfectly by Johnson, the movie was a box-office flop, one that signaled the end of DCEU as we know it.

It was only recently that it was confirmed that Johnson tried to use the movie to leverage his own production company to be in charge of the DCEU, something that eventually led to Gunn & Safran being hired and Henry Cavill letting go of his agent.

There is also talk of Johnson’s worrying behavior on sets in recent times. According to some sources, the actor cost the production of ‘Red One’ an additional $50 million due to being late to shooting all the time. He also refused to use on-set facilities to relieve himself opting in to use designated “pee” bottles.

Even if this is just talk, I don’t think Marvel Studios wants more drama when it comes to their actors and writers. They are still reeling from Jonathan Majors’ incident, and they still have not make an official announcement on why Beau DeMayo, creator and writer of ‘X-Men ’97’ was fired just days ahead of the season 1 premiere.
