Marvel has plenty of projects bound to be released in the next few years, and we know that most of these projects have been stuck in a sort of limbo due to the historic SAG-AFTRA strike that paralyzed the whole industry as a whole, causing plenty of projects to be both delayed or altogether canceled.

One extremely anticipated Marvel Studios project that had problems way before the strikes began is ‘Blade.’ It is an MCU-based movie following Eric Brooks, the most notable vampire hunter in comics, and a reboot of the already highly popular ‘Blade’ trilogy that contributed to paving the way for the MCU that we know today

Next to nothing is known about the ‘Blade’ movie besides the fact that Mahershala Ali proposed the project and that the movie has had a hellish development so far. But, the movie’s development woes might be close to ending since according to Production Weekly the movie is slated to begin filming this year in Fall in the UK. The production can be expected to begin in the fourth quarter of 2024.

Just in the last few months plenty of rumors have been going around that the script is being massively rewritten, with the latest rumors stating that Blade’s daughter is out of the movie, the movie is no longer being developed as a period piece and the planned filming has been moved from USA to London. Production Weekly managed to verify at least some of these claims, which means that the claim about filming location change & direction change are true.

According to insiders, the movie is supposed to involve Black Knight & Ebony Blade. Several months ago, Demange, director of the movie confirmed that the project is rated “R” as it’s the only way to give justice both to the character and to the legacy of the original movies. ‘Blade’ is expected to be released in 2025, no release date has been given so far.
