Recent Reports Reveal That Captain Marvel Remains Important Character in the Future of the MCU: “Carol Is Set on a Journey”
‘The Marvels’ is the latest movie in the MCU. The movie was both a continuation of the Danvers’ story as well as a spotlight on Kamala Khan and Monica Rambeau who established themselves as notable characters during Phase 4 of the MCU.
‘The Marvels’ did flop despite being one of the most important movies for the future of the cinematic universe. The movie lost an eye-watering sum of money for the studio, and recent reports did claim that this catastrophic failure did manage to cancel Monica Rambeau’s solo show.
Still, Kamala Khan one of the protagonists asserts herself as one of the most important characters in the future of the MCU, judging by all the projects she will take part in, and apparently, so does Captain Marvel.
Despite ‘Captain Marvel 3′ being reportedly canceled, Danvers’ role in the MCU is not diminished due to the movie underperforming. According to Comic Circus’ Alex Perez, Danvers is a huge part of the MCU going forward. Her story will focus on retrieving Monica Rambau and deciphering the origin and potential of Quantum Bands.
Carol Danvers’ role in the Multiverse Saga moving forward has not been diminished, nor will it be toned down due to The Marvels underperforming. Carol’s role in this saga is going to be very personal as she is currently dedicating all of her time to investigating the nature of the Quantum Bangles, where they actually came from, and using their power to find a way to bring back Monica Rambeau into the MCU following the events of The Marvels
The original story for ‘The Marvels’ wasn’t what we were eventually served as Zawe Ashton (Dar-Benn) revealed recently that Carol was supposed to die in one of the planned endings for the movie, which explains why Danvers’ purpose wasn’t directly addressed at the end.
