Rumors: MCU Still on Track to Release Two Avengers Movies! It’s Uncertain Whether One of Them Will Be ‘Kang Dynasty’

We haven’t had a proper Avengers movie since the release of ‘Endgame’ in 2019, and this is the moment that plenty of fans felt the MCU stopped giving us their best. Instead, it’s been a rollercoaster of underperforming Disney+ series and movies with few notable exceptions that have been praised far and wide.

We know that Marvel Studios has two Avengers movies planned for 2026 and 2027, ‘Kang Dynasty’ and ‘Secret Wars.’ But due to the most recent controversies surrounding Jonathan Majors and the poor performance of the movies that were released in the last year or so, the studio might be rethinking its strategy, and it’s been heavily rumored for the past several weeks that ‘Kang Dynasty’ perhaps ain’t happening at all.

‘Quantumania’ was the first movie that was supposed to showcase the new villain for the Avengers, Kang the Conqueror or Council of Kangs in any case. But the thing is, the movie wasn’t received all that well, and it was a box office bomb. I’m sure that only a fraction of fan displeasure with the movie was due to Majors’ performance. However, more than a week after the premiere of the movie, Majors was arrested for the alleged physical attack on his romantic partner.

Both sides have been at each other’s throats, and even though Majors was at first suspected to be completely innocent, some of the people he has worked with in the past warned the general public about his alleged behavior.

In any case, Marvel Studios had quite a mess on their hands. Their next major star, who was supposed to be the face of the franchise and face of their merchandise, was involved in a high-profile abuse case, and the rumors about recasting Majors were getting louder every day.

But that hasn’t happened, at least not yet. Majors even went on to appear as He Who Remains / Victor Timely in season 2 of ‘Loki,’ a show that so far remains the best thing the studio released this year.

Young Avengers Project Allegedly Still Happening Even After ‘The Marvels’ Underperforming

Several days ago, we found out that ‘Kang Dynasty” is in serious trouble with Destin Daniel Cretton’s departure from the project. There has been loud whispering that the project was canceled altogether. Jeff Sneider, however, went to X to explain that two movies are still happening, but he is unsure whether one will be called ‘Kang Dynasty’ or ‘Secret Wars’ might be split into two movies.

He also claims that the studio ideally wants one director to deal with both movies and hints that it could be Matt Shakman once he wraps up his upcoming ‘Fantastic Four’ reboot.

Yesterday, we covered rumors, however, that Dr. Doom is being cast and that Mads Mikkelsen has been in talks to play him, with the possibility of Doom appearing in ‘Secret Wars’ but as a secondary villain, the first villain still being Kang the Conqueror as Marvel Studios has no intention of dropping him as a main villain now that several projects were released that build up around the Multiverse premise.

I have to agree that wouldn’t make sense all that much, and it would be easier to recast Majors altogether, but in any case, we’re sure that ‘Kang Dynasty’ will undergo overhauls when compared to the initial idea. There are far too many rumors floating around, and where there’s smoke, there’s fire.
