‘Star Wars Vision- The Ninth Jedi’ Trailer Unleashes a New Anime Chapter in the Galaxy Far, Far Away
The ‘Star Wars: Visions’ universe is expanding once again, bringing fans back into a unique anime-inspired corner of the galaxy. The latest project, ‘Star Wars: Visions Presents — The Ninth Jedi,’ is preparing to continue the story with a new animated adventure focused on the Jedi and the future of the Force.
Unlike traditional ‘Star Wars’ projects tied closely to the main Skywalker storyline, ‘Visions’ has allowed creators to explore fresh ideas, different animation styles, and original characters. The upcoming series continues that approach by expanding one of the most popular concepts introduced through the original ‘Star Wars: Visions’ anthology.
The first trailer for ‘Star Wars: Visions Presents — The Ninth Jedi’ has now been released, giving fans a new look at the anime series ahead of its Disney+ debut. The trailer showcases intense lightsaber battles, new Force users, and a visually distinct animation style that separates it from other entries in the franchise.
The story follows Kara and her group of Jedi as they search for warriors strong enough to stand against a powerful rising threat. According to Disney+, the series centers on Kara and her ragtag Jedi crew as they attempt to find worthy Jedi to fight against an increasingly dangerous warlord.
‘The Ninth Jedi’ originally gained attention as one of the standout episodes from the first ‘Star Wars: Visions’ collection. The new series takes that idea further, transforming the short story into a larger animated event that gives viewers more time with its characters and its version of the Star Wars universe.
The upcoming anime series is being developed with a creative team that includes Kenji Kamiyama as supervising director and Shunsuke Tada as director, with Mitsuyasu Sakai credited as writer. The cast includes voice performances from actors such as Patrick Seitz, Keone Young, JP Karliak, Young Mazino, and others.
The project represents another step in Lucasfilm’s continued push to explore animation as a major part of the franchise. While live-action shows continue to dominate the conversation around ‘Star Wars,’ animated projects have become a place where creators can experiment with different storytelling styles and eras.
‘The Ninth Jedi’ will arrive as part of the new ‘Star Wars: Visions Presents’ banner, which allows longer-form stories based on ideas introduced in the original anthology. The series is scheduled to premiere on Disney+ and Hulu on August 5.
The release also comes as interest in anime-inspired storytelling continues to grow among global audiences. By combining the world of ‘Star Wars’ with the visual language of Japanese animation, the franchise has found a way to reach longtime fans while also attracting viewers who may be discovering the galaxy for the first time.
With the new trailer already giving fans a glimpse at the action, characters, and expanded Jedi mythology, expectations are rising for what could become one of the most ambitious animated ‘Star Wars’ projects yet.
