Following the release of ‘Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom’ DCU officially took over from the DCEU and now some of the most iconic characters in comics history are in the hands of Safran and Gunn. The DCU is meant to start with the animated show ‘Creature Commandos,’ however, the live-action portion of this cinematic universe is kicking off the release of ‘Superman’ which both Safran and Gunn consider to be the true start of DCEU. Several other projects are also confirmed to be in development, ‘The Authority’ focusing on the team of the same name, ‘Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow’ that would see Milly Alcock in the role of DCU’s Supergirl, ‘Paradise Lost’ a tv show focusing on Wonder Woman-oriented lore set on Themyscira.

While some of the most notable roles in DCU have been cast, primarily Superman, Lois Lane, and Supergirl we still have no idea who the live-action Batman in the DCU will be.

According to a most recent update, a casting call should go out soon looking for the DCU’s Dark Knight, and we have one actor who is literally shouting to be noticed and cast as Batman, we’re talking about fan-favorite casting, Alan Ritchson. Alan recently talked to the Hollywood Reporter, and he doesn’t exactly hide his excitement over potentially playing Batman.

I would love to play Batman. There I said it okay. I’ll shout it from the rooftops: I wanna be Bruce Wayne. Here’s the thing about Batman. You know what his superpower is? Intelligence. Dude is the smartest superhero there is. Like, he’s inventive and he’s got all the gadgets, but he’s super-smart. I wanna be that guy, and also to have like a cave, with hypercars.

Ritchson’s take on the Batsy is certainly interesting, and I gotta admit who hasn’t dreamt of having a cave filled with hypercars, also to have the honor of unironically saying “I’m Batman,” it would all be worth it.

Ritchson is certainly no stranger to superhero roles. He played Arthur Curry aka Aquaman in ‘Smallville’ (Yes Aquaman was in Smallville you just don’t remember) which was also Ritchson’s acting debut. Following Aquaman Ritchson had the opportunity to play Hank Hall aka Hawk in ‘Titans,’ ‘Supergirl’ and ‘Legends of Tomorrow.’ He also recently revealed that he basically ruined his chances to play MCU’s Thor by not taking the role seriously enough.

As I’ve said already, Ritchson is the number 1 fan casting to play the next Batman, and we hope that Gunn is listening. Have something to add? Let us know in the comments below!
