Here’s How Aquaman Is Able to Fly

When it comes to superheroes, one of the powers that are usually associated with the most popular characters in comic book history is the ability to fly. That’s because everyone wants to fly, and that’s why a lot of superheroes are given the ability to fly, as this allows them to become more relatable to fans who want to imagine themselves flying as well. But, of course, Aquaman is a superhero who a lot of fans don’t think can actually fly. The truth, however, is that he can actually fly, and that is what we are here to talk about.

Yes, Aquaman can fly

One of the reasons why plenty of superheroes and comic book characters are incredibly popular among different fans is their ability to fly. After all, while it may be nice to be able to lift objects that are thousands of tons heavy, it is just as nice to have the ability to fly so that you can actually go to different places without the need to walk or use a vehicle. Of course, this also explains why some of the best and most popular superheroes have the ability to fly.

The likes of Superman, Wonder Woman, Shazam, and a lot of other DC superheroes are so popular due to their ability to fly. Of course, one superhero fans often make fun of because he doesn’t have the same kind of powers and abilities that the other members of the Justice League have is Aquaman. That is why he is often the butt of jokes in a lot of different comic book fan circles.

Of course, while we do know that Aquaman is incredibly strong and is almost just as strong as Wonder Woman and is just as fast as the Flash whenever he is underwater, one of the things that fans make fun of him is the fact that he seemingly doesn’t have the ability to fly. A lot of superheroes are known to have flight as one of their powers, but Aquaman is not one of the heroes that people often think of when it comes to flight.

True enough, Aquaman does have other unique powers, such as the ability to command an entire ocean full of sea creatures and even sea monsters. He can also fight on par with the likes of Superman and Wonder Woman whenever he is at his strongest. But the thing that fans actually don’t know about Aquaman is that he can actually fly.

Yes, that’s right. Aquaman, whose superhero name is associated with the seas, is capable of flight. This is something that not a lot of fans know about, as Aquaman isn’t always portrayed to have this ability. But the truth is that he does have the ability to fly, and this is canon. It’s just that a lot of different comic book stories of this character don’t portray him as having this power, as he is mostly underwater in those storylines.

How is Aquaman able to fly?

As mentioned, Aquaman does have the ability to fly. Some fans may not like the fact that Aquaman can fly because he is an aqua-based superhero. On top of that, Atlanteans aren’t known to have the ability to fly. Aquaman may be the strongest of his kind, but he is still just a regular Atlantean who has the same abilities as the rest of his people.

Still, the fact is that Aquaman does have flight as one of his powers. However, the thing that needs to be remembered is that his ability to fly isn’t innate to him, unlike the likes of Superman and Wonder Woman, who are both able to fly unaided without the need for them to use any special tool or weapon as such, Aquaman was not born with the ability to fly, unlike Namor, his Marvel Comics counterpart.

We know that Aquaman possesses the Trident of Poseidon, which is an incredibly powerful magical weapon that allows him to have total command over Atlantis and the different underwater kingdoms. However, it is also this weapon that allows him to have the ability to fly unaided.

The fact that Aquaman possesses the Trident of Poseidon is the reason why he was also blessed by Poseidon, the god of the seas, with the ability to fly. This was shown in the Prime Earth and the New 52 continuities as the rebooted universes also gave Aquaman new powers that were never present in the previous continuities of DC.

In these continuities, the god of the seas blessed the king of the seas with the ability to fly, as this may sound odd, considering that Poseidon should be the last god anyone would think of when it comes to flight.

Of course, while it may be true that Aquaman can fly, the thing is that he doesn’t always use this power in the comics. This may be due to the fact that he almost always operates underwater. It is also possible that his flight ability doesn’t allow him to fly as fast as the likes of Superman, Wonder Woman, and Green Lantern. Whatever the case may be, Aquaman does have the ability to fly.
