One of the things that we know about the world of comic books is that some superheroes tend to be wealthy beyond imagination, and it is actually their wealth that allows them to become superheroes. But there are some superheroes who are actually rich but aren’t known for their wealth. A lot of people, of course, don’t know that Aquaman is an incredibly wealthy superhero who has riches that may surprise you. So, how rich is Aquaman?

Arthur Curry started out as a simple man

The life of superheroes tends to be quite complicated, especially when it comes to their origin stories. Arthur Curry is one of the superheroes who never even thought that he was destined for greatness as he was just a simple young man growing up as the son of a lighthouse caretaker. As such, Arthur never even dreamed of becoming a hero or even an incredibly rich person.

But the truth was that he was the heir to the throne of Atlantis as he eventually found out that his mother was the queen of Atlantis. His father once fell in love with the queen of Atlantis before the queen had to return to her home in the ocean. As such, Arthur’s father had to take care of him as a single parent before he eventually started showing signs of his abilities as the child of Atlantis’ royal family.

As such, during his younger years and before he became the king of Atlantis, Aquaman wasn’t actually wealthy. He lived a simple life together with his father. Arthur and his father were probably middle-class in terms of their socio-economic standing, as Thomas Curry had an honest and simple job that didn’t pay much but was enough to help him raise his son.

Aquaman inherited the entire ocean

Eventually, however, Arthur Curry had to assume the throne of Atlantis as he was the rightful heir to his mother. As Aquaman, Arthur became the king of Atlantis, which was the center of power of all of the different aquatic nations all over the world. Owning the Trident of Poseidon allowed him to become the true king of the oceans, uniting all of the different kingdoms under his command.

The fact that Arthur became the king of the ocean also means that he basically inherited the riches of the entire ocean. We know that the ocean covers around 70% of the Earth’s surface, and that means that the ocean itself and everything in it are more valuable than the different riches found on land.

So, after assuming his rightful place as the king of Atlantis, Arthur Curry became an incredibly wealthy monarch who basically owned everything in the ocean. This is a true rags-to-riches story on the part of Aquaman as he became one of the wealthiest superheroes after starting out as the son of a simple lighthouse caretaker.

It can be estimated that Aquaman’s net worth is around $100 to 150 trillion. This can depend on a lot of different things, such as the total valuation of all of the resources and valuable minerals that can be found in the ocean. 

According to a study, the total valuation of all of the oceans on our planet is around $24 trillion. That means that Aquaman has the right to the $24 trillion valuation of the oceans because he rules Atlantis, which is a kingdom that claims all of the oceans on Earth as part of the territory of the Atlantean monarchy. Of course, because there may be more resources found in the oceans of DC than in real life, it is possible that the valuation of the oceans in DC is higher.

On top of the fact that Aquaman has all of the riches of the ocean in the palm of his hands, Atlantis is also home to technology that the surface dwellers don’t have access to. Atlantean technology is far more advanced than human technology, and that means that the technology of Atlantis is also far more valuable than any other technology on the surface.

As such, it can be estimated that the riches of the ocean and the technology of Atlantis can be summed up to an estimated net worth of $100 to 150 trillion for Aquaman. Of course, the golden shirt that he wears is proof of the fact that he is incredibly wealthy.

Is Aquaman the richest DC superhero?

When it comes to the world of comic books, particularly in DC, the one character that fans often think about in terms of money is Batman because he is basically who he is because of Bruce Wayne’s incredible wealth. But the thing that needs to be considered is that as wealthy as Batman is, Aquaman is a lot wealthier. But is Aquaman the richest DC superhero?

As far as the planet Earth is concerned, Aquaman is the wealthiest superhero in DC because his riches far surpass the riches of Batman and the other land-dwelling superheroes on the planet. The combined wealth of Batman and the other wealthy superheroes doesn’t even compare to Aquaman’s wealth, as Arthur Curry basically owns the entire ocean.

However, there are some characters who are even wealthier than Aquaman, and most of them can be found on other planets with resources that are far more valuable than what Earth’s oceans have to offer. But on Earth, Aquaman is certainly wealthier than anyone else on the planet. It’s just that he isn’t as loud about his wealth as Bruce Wayne is.
