How Strong Is Kang the Conqueror? Compared To Thanos, Thor, Galactus, & Scarlet Witch
Much of Kang’s powers and abilities are focused on his superior technology from the 40th century. We know that he was born as a regular human but further improved himself by using the said technology that opened a whole world of possibilities both in regards to his fighting potential and in regards to time travel. We know that he has a plethora of energy-manipulating abilities and that he is extremely smart, but what about his physical strength? This is what we set out to find out today as we explore how strong Kang really is and how he compares to other strong characters from Marvel Comics?
Kang the Conqueror is extremely strong, as he can lift up to 5 tons by using his advanced armor. Even without armor, Kang can lift twice his body weight, but he can’t go against some of the most powerful characters without the armor. Kang’s armor provides him with enough physical enhancements that he is considered to have superhuman strength, superhuman durability, and advanced reflexes.
Now that we’ve covered how much Kang the Conqueror can lift, it’s time to explore how and, lastly, how he compares to other powerhouses. If you’re interested in more, stay with us and keep reading!
How is Kang the Conqueror so strong?
Kang the Conqueror was born as a regular human named Nathaniel Richards. As a citizen of Earth from the 31st century, Kang had a superior intellect that allowed him to unlock the mysteries of the Multiverse and allowed him to travel through time. At one of Kang’s excursions into the future, specifically to the 40th century, Kang took an extremely powerful alloy and crafted his armor.
What made that alloy special were its neurokinetic properties, which meant that Kang’s armor would act as an extension of his own mind and react to his thoughts and subconscious. His ultra-advanced armor makes Kang so physically strong as it allows him to lift 5 tons, which is impressive for someone who is not naturally superhuman or has acquired superhuman powers through some other means.
Kang’s armor also provides him with extreme durability and various gadgets. It also provides him with an anti-gravity device that renders all objects around him, weighing up to 2.2 tons, completely weightless.
However, the most powerful feature of Kang’s armor remains the built-in mechanics to create temporal divergences, which means that he can basically open portals and create time deviations that he utilizes for time-traveling purposes.
Kang’s physical strength is not the only weapon he has. He can also summon powerful forcefields and shock blasts that render his targets defenseless, especially if they are close enough to him to make physical contact.
Now that we’ve covered the source of Kang’s strength, all we have to do is compare him to other notably strong characters from Marvel Comics.
Is Kang stronger than Thanos?
Kang is physically weaker than Thanos many times. Thanos is an Eternal-Deviant hybrid, which means that he has the natural physical strength of these advanced races, but Thanos also spent a large portion of his intellect and technology to further improve his own body, as he hates weakness in any form.
Thanos can lift in excess of 100 tons, which puts him among the strongest characters in the Marvel Universe. However, it’s possible that Thanos’ strength is, in reality, uncapped, as he can further enhance it either through technology or through magic and other supernatural means. Thanos proved time and time again that he was strong enough to defeat the likes of Hulk, Beta Ray Bill, Thor, and other powerhouses.
How does Kang compare to Thor?
Thor is much stronger than Kang the Conqueror, and once again, this is because he has physiology on his side. Thor is not only an Asgardian but also among the most powerful Asgardians due to his royal and godlike status. Thor can lift up to 100 tons, although over the course of his existence as a character, he proved on several occasions that he can lift even more. Thor rarely struggles against enemies. He proved his physical might time and time again by defeating the likes of Hulk, Silver Surfer, Red Hulk, Hercules, and others.
Is Kang stronger than Galactus?
Kang is weaker than Galactus because Galactus has limitless strength. If you’re wondering how that is possible, it’s because Galactus is not exactly a normal being. He is a cosmic entity created by Black Winter to devour worlds (or knowledge), and as such, he has to have plenty of physical strength to defend himself because, let’s face it, people and superheroes are not going to be fans of you trying to devour their homeworld.
Galactus seems to be a constant in the Marvel Universe, as even when defeated, he keeps coming back, either through resurrection or cosmic meddling of other types. Galactus’ strength is infinite, but even if it wasn’t, he is nearly omnipotent; he has plenty of powers and abilities to go around.
How does Kang the Conqueror compare to Wanda?
This is an interesting one, but because we are comparing physical strength, Kang is stronger than Wanda, aka Scarlet Witch, because she doesn’t have superhuman strength. Wanda is able to lift her own body weight, although by utilizing her Chaos Magic and telekinesis, she can lift heavy objects through non-physical manipulation.
Wanda is among the, if not the most powerful, magic-users in Marvel Comics, but physical feats were never exactly her strongest side. Still, due to Wanda rarely relying on her strength, she would most likely find a way to deal with Kang through other means.
