However, in today’s article, we won’t focus on the team itself. Rather we’re going to explore one of its newest addition, Jon Ironfire. Marvel constantly creates new characters, often mutants, but Jon has a pretty interesting backstory, so we decided to tell you more about him. Let’s see who Jon Ironfire is and what are his powers and abilities.

Jon Ironfire is an Arakki mutant that debuted in Storm & The Brotherhood of Mutants. He is one of the survivors of the destruction of Arakko, that was forced to relocate to the nearby asteroid remnants of his home planet. He serves as a second-hand lieutenant to Storm in her Brotherhood of Mutants. Jon Ironfire has the ability to turn his blood into metal, a special type of metal, and due to this, he can generate metallic features all across his body. He can even create “wolverine-like” claws.

Now that we’ve covered the most basic facts about Jon Ironfire, it’s time to explore this confusing new timeline, including the new Storm & The Brotherhood of Mutants storyline. If you’re interested in more, stay with us and keep reading!

Mr. Sinister returns with the most devilish plan yet

Before we tell you all we know so far about the Jon Ironfire, we need to take a brief look at the events that transpired in Sins of Sinister #1.

Mister Sinister is punished for killing Hope Summers by being thrown into the Pit of Exile. Emma Frost, the Sinister-influenced Xavier, Exodus, and Hope Summers discuss hiding their Sinister diamonds until they are ready to use them. At the next Quiet Council meeting, Xavier suggests sharing resurrection access with humans, but Emma and others oppose it. In Year One, Ben Urich tells J. Jonah Jameson that the X-Gene has been corrupted and mutants are poised to take over the world. Jameson reveals that he has already been compromised.

On Krakoa, Forge creates an orbital cannon to shoot Krakoa, but Hope presses the button that triggers the blast. Emma Frost falsely claims that Orchis was responsible for the attack on Krakoa, and humanity is urged to join the mutants in fighting Orchis.

Storm discovers truth

In Year Five, the Quiet Council reveals to Storm that Sinister’s X-Gene has compromised them. Storm, having erased her backup, was not able to be compromised. Sinister brings out the real transformed Nightcrawler, and the Council telepaths begin to psychically assault Storm, but she has a fail-safe in place.

The story includes Sinister’s plan to achieve dominion status before artificial intelligence beings consume mutantdom. Sinister’s plan involves compromising the DNA database, taking over Earth, and using mutant creative power to achieve dominion status.

Sinister enacts the first five years of his plan, which includes inciting a war between Krakoa/Arakko and the Eternals and infecting members of the Avengers.

Arakko invaded

Storm escapes to Arakko, Krakoa’s sister planet, and due to this, Arakko finds itself on Sinster’s path of destruction. At the end of the issue, we find out that someone stole Mr. Sinister’s Moira Machine.

Arraki were fooled into waging war against Eternals only to be invaded by their cousins

Krakoa and Arakko attacked the Eternals, unleashing Uranos, which defeated them. Five years later, the Arakki grew suspicious of their Krakoan cousins and learned of their corruption at the hands of Sinister. The Arakki prepared for war but were counseled to wait by Destiny.

However, the Krakoan Sinisters launched a massive invasion of Arakko, using Chimeras and a Legion clone to destroy Mars and Arakko, making Arakki’s growth futile. The surviving Arakkii are scattered and living as refugees. Storm leads a group of five other Arakkii who named themselves Brotherhood of Mutants from a hidden base within one of the asteroids. They are dedicated to continuing the fight against Sinister, including Cable, Khora, Wiz Kid, Ironfire, and Quick.

Jon Ironfire is Storm’s right hand

We’ve already mentioned that one of the new members of Storm’s reformed Brotherhood of Mutants is Jon Ironfire. He is one of the Arakki survivors who decided to become her team’s most vital and appreciated member.

Jon Ironfire kills mystique disguised as destiny

We don’t know much about his history except that he was born and raised in Arakko and was forced to relocate following the planet’s destruction. He was crucial in detecting the disguises due to his unique powers and abilities, and for the majority of the timeline, he spent his days guarding the World Farm. We won’t spoil the whole storyline, but he is one of its most important characters.

How powerful is Jon Ironfire?

Jon Ironfire is a mutant with a peculiar ability to turn his blood into metal. This means that he can get pretty creative with his ability since he can create a large number of “extra” features on his body by using his metallic blood.

He can generate metallic horns and metallic stripes, just about anything that he imagines, and is able to serve as protective armor for his body.

Jon Ironfire can likewise turn his molten blood into a weapon, as he is capable of ejecting metallic bullets or other projectile attacks by using his metal-turned-drops of blood.

His most notable ability, however, is the ability to create extremely sharp and dangerous metal claws.

Since this is one thing that Wolverine is most iconic for, we have to wonder whether Jon Ironfire is set to become the “new Wolverine.” However, we don’t know whether Ironfire can turn his blood into adamantium.  Jon Ironfire is likewise capable of detecting heat signatures. They work as sort of a unique fingerprint for each individual, and once Jon Ironfire detects your heat signature, he never forgets it.

All in all, it’s a pretty interesting ability with a unique twist to it and we hope to see more of Ironfire in the future.
