Charlie Hunnam Shares Relaxed Walk Along Tynemouth Coast With Mom Jane
Charlie Hunnam recently took a break from his busy Hollywood schedule to spend some quiet time with his mother, Jane. The 45-year-old actor was spotted on Thursday, February 12, enjoying a brisk walk along the scenic Tynemouth coast in North East England.
Bundled up against the chilly coastal wind, Hunnam looked relaxed in a black overcoat, leather gloves, and a gray paperboy hat. He even appeared to be balancing downtime with other responsibilities, as he was seen talking on FaceTime during his stroll.
Born in nearby Newcastle upon Tyne, Hunnam often returns to the North East to visit family between major filming projects, and this peaceful moment offered a contrast to the intense characters he has been portraying on screen.
The outing comes after a busy start to the year for Hunnam. In January, he attended the Critics’ Choice Awards and caused a stir online when he referred to his longtime partner, Morgana McNelis, as his wife. The couple, who have been together for over 20 years, have mostly kept their relationship private, so fans speculated that they may have secretly married.

Professionally, Hunnam is riding high after a transformative performance in the third season of the Netflix anthology series Monster. He played Ed Gein in the 2025 season and received Best Actor nominations at both the Golden Globes and Critics’ Choice Awards.
Hunnam told reporters that he was amazed by the global viewership the season drew, calling it one of the most successful points in his career since Sons of Anarchy. Fans won’t have to wait long for more, as Hunnam will return to the Monster universe for the fourth season, Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story.
In a rare twist for the anthology, he will play a new character, Andrew Borden, the father of Lizzie Borden, who will be portrayed by Ella Beatty, daughter of Annette Bening and Warren Beatty. The season is currently in production in Los Angeles.
Beyond Netflix, Hunnam is also set to star in the upcoming Prime Video series Criminal, a comic book adaptation featuring Emilia Clarke, Adria Arjona, and Michael Mando. He is also attached to the independent film Denali, where he will serve as both lead actor and producer, showing that he is expanding his role behind the camera as well.
With a new season of Monster expected later this year and multiple projects in the works, Charlie Hunnam continues to be one of the most active and versatile actors on the streaming scene.
“It’s been amazing to see how people around the world reacted to the season,” Hunnam said about his role in Monster, highlighting his appreciation for both the craft and the audience.
