‘Captain America: Brave New World’: Plot, Cast, Release Date & Everything We Know So Far

‘Captain America: Brave New World’ is one of the most anticipated MCU projects. Like plenty of other movies & shows, the development was put back on track following the conclusion of the SAG-AFTRA strike. Everybody expected that the movie would be at least somewhat delayed. Initially ‘Captain America 4’ switched dates with ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ until being delayed for almost a year, now bound to be released on February 15, 2025.

During this year’s CinemaCon, we learned that the project is back on track and well, and we’ve gotten insight into what the possible plot of the movie could be, as well as its execution. With new insights, it’s time to overview what we know about the movie.

Sam Wilson is a man with a plan, and he needs to get the Avengers back together

During CinemaCon exclusive footage was shown to the attendees. The footage shows Sam Wilson in action, Harrison Ford as Thunderbolt Ross as well as the new Captain America suit.

The clip reveals Sam Wilson meeting President Thunderbolt Ross at the White House, where Ross proposes reuniting the Avengers under a new Captain America. However, there are hints of Ross having ulterior motives. Chaos erupts during a meeting when a mysterious villain takes control, leading to action-packed scenes including Sam defending himself against Secret Service agents. Sam and Joaquín Torres team up in action sequences, culminating in a tense confrontation between Sam and Ross. Sam acknowledges he’s not Steve Rogers before donning the new silver and blue Captain America suit. Mackie added the movie will be fast-paced, grounded, and will focus on Sam Wilson.

Now this is the official take on things, the rumors we’ve been covering in the last few months pointed in the direction of Serpent Society being in the movie until they were cut from it completely (allegedly). King Cobra was also supposed to make an appearance, as a minor villain. According to other sets of rumors, Tiamut’s head and left hand will finally be acknowledged to a greater extent.

The first test screenings allegedly revealed that action was sub-par when compared to the previous ‘Captain America’ movies and that the political themes of the movie as well as the romantic subplot are seriously lacking (and boring.)

One notable name will not be in the movie

The cast for the upcoming project includes Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson/Captain America, Danny Ramirez as Joaquín Torres/Falcon, Tim Blake Nelson as Samuel Sterns/Leader, Carl Lumbly as Isaiah Bradley, Harrison Ford as President Thaddeus Ross, Shira Haas as Ruth Bat-Seraph/Sabra, Liv Tyler as Doctor Betty Ross, Rosa Salazar as Rachel Leighton/Diamondback, Xosha Roquemore, Seth Rollins, Giancarlo Esposito and Kapil Talwalkar in undisclosed roles.

Recently, It’s been confirmed that Sebastian Stan won’t reprise his role in the upcoming installment. Mark Ruffalo confirmed that the Hulk would be appearing in the movie until he apologized and said that he misspoke a few hours later.

The movie was delayed several times but is back on track with a fixed release

‘Captain America: Brave New World” is set to premiere in the United States on February 14, 2025, as part of Phase Five of the MCU. Originally the movie switched release dates with ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ but due to various complications and the SAG-AFTRA strike, it was delayed for almost a year.
