Netflix Reassures Subscribers: “Nothing Is Changing Today” Amid Warner Bros. Deal
Netflix has sent a message to its U.S. subscribers assuring them that its recent $83 billion deal to acquire Warner Bros. TV and film studios will not affect their streaming experience, at least for now.
The email, sent by the “Netflix team” to over 82 million U.S. accounts, repeatedly emphasized that “nothing is changing” and that both Netflix and HBO Max will continue to operate separately until the acquisition is finalized.
Answering questions about existing HBO Max subscriptions, Netflix explained on its help page: “Netflix and Warner Bros. will remain separate until the transaction is closed.” The company also reminded subscribers that the deal still requires regulatory and shareholder approvals, and more updates will follow as the process moves forward.

The announcement comes amid a highly publicized day of corporate communications, town halls at Warner Bros. Discovery, and reactions from industry observers.
The deal faces a complex set of hurdles, including approvals from the U.S. Department of Justice, the European Union, state attorneys general, and potential challenges from competitors like Paramount. There’s also a chance of overbidding or legal challenges that could impact the transaction.
“Nothing is changing today,” Netflix reassures, while the larger implications of combining two major studios remain under review.
This deal could reshape the streaming landscape and bring enormous content power to Netflix. It’s interesting to see how regulators, competitors, and audiences will respond as the process unfolds. What do you think about Netflix acquiring Warner Bros.? Share your thoughts in the comments.
