Scooby-Doo (Franchise)
Scooby-Doo, Where Are You! is an American animated franchise created in 1969 by Joe Ruby and Ken Spears under Hanna-Barbera, later becoming part of Warner Bros. Animation. It follows four teenagers—Fred, Daphne, Velma, and Shaggy—along with their talking dog Scooby-Doo as they travel in the Mystery Machine solving cases that seem supernatural but usually have real human explanations.
The franchise started on CBS and later moved to ABC, running in different forms for decades with multiple reboots across networks like Kids’ WB and Cartoon Network. It also includes spin-offs like A Pup Named Scooby-Doo and the more recent Scooby-Doo and Guess Who?. Over time, it expanded into films, specials, and merchandise, becoming a long-running global brand.
