Jane Austen’s ‘Sense and Sensibility’ is her first published novel, released anonymously in 1811 under the name “By A Lady.” Set in the late 18th century, the story follows the Dashwood sisters and their mother after they lose their family home and move to a smaller cottage in Devon.
