Wolverine vs. Wonder Woman: Who Would Win in a Fight?

Wolverine vs. Wonder Woman Who Would Win in a Fight
Share:

We often stage hypothetical fights between various characters, but it’s not often that we have a fight between a mutant and a demigoddess. I guess there’s a first time for everything. Wolverine has among the best healing factors in Marvel Comics, and Wonder Woman is known to be almost as strong as Superman. But what would happen if these two were to fight? We set out to explore this today, so let’s see when it comes to a battle between Wolverine and Wonder Woman, who is stronger, and who would win in a fight?

Wonder Woman is a lot stronger than Wolverine and would most certainly win in a fight against him. She is stronger, faster, and has better combat skills. The only thing that Wolverine has going for him is his healing factor, but that wouldn’t be nearly enough to stand up against one of the most powerful characters in DC comics. Wonder Woman faced threats far more severe than Wolverine and dealt with them with relative ease.

Now that we’ve covered who would most likely prevail in this fight, it’s time to explore it in more detail. We’re going to analyze the powers, abilities, strength, speed, and durability of both characters so you can see how we came to our conclusion. If you’re interested in more, stay with us and keep reading!

Powers and abilities

Wolverine is a mutant most famous for his incredible healing factor, capable of repairing even the most severe damage. However, we’re not going to analyze this right now as it will be explored more in the durability section. Besides the healing factor, Wolverine has retractable adamantium claws, which are known to be among the most lethal weapons in Marvel Comics Universe. The claws are likewise nearly indestructible.

Wolverine powers and abilities

Besides his claws, Wolverine also has enhanced senses of perceiving sight, smell, taste, and touch differently and more potently when compared to an average human. He also has a pretty fantastic hearing. And while none of his senses would give him an advantage regarding Wonder Woman, his retractable claws might prove to be a game changer.

Wonder Woman is the most powerful Amazon, in large part thanks to her divine heritage. She is classified as a demigoddess, which further enhances her physical attributes. She also received divine blessings from various Olympian gods, which further allowed her to become the champion of Themyscira.

Besides her vastly enhanced physical attributes, Wonder Woman has little to offer in other departments. Sure, the older and alternate versions of Wonder Woman had some reality-breaking powers and were quite skilled when it came to magic, but the current Wonder Woman pretty much has enhanced senses and animal empathy. Still, it proves to be enough most of the time.

Wolverin’s retractable claws might prove to be especially useful against Diana, who has a famous “sharp objects” weakness, and due to this, the point goes to Wolverine.

Strength and stamina

Besides his adamantium claws, Wolverine also has an adamantium skeleton, allowing him to lift up to 2 tons if needed. This is far more than an average human can lift, and going by the various threats that Wolverine faced over the years, it proved to be enough, even though he was never exactly counted among the physically strong characters in Marvel Comics.

Due to his mutant genes, Wolverine also has abnormally large stamina reserves at his disposal. His body is so good at filtering fatigue toxins he can fight for much longer than your average human without needing rest or feeling the effects of fatigue.

On the other hand, Wonder Woman is counted among the physically strongest characters in her respective universe. She can lift in excess of 100 tons, all thanks to the blessing of Demeter that granted her excessively superhuman strength.

Wonder Woman’s strength knows no bounds, as she was frequently seen manipulating celestial bodies with nothing but her raw physical strength, and she is often compared to Superman in that department. When it comes to stamina, as a demigoddess, Wonder Woman can fight for a really long time without succumbing to fatigue, exerting herself beyond human effort.

It’s obvious that between the two, Wonder Woman is far stronger. This point goes to Princess Diana.

Points: Wonder Woman (1:1) Wolverine

Speed

Wolverine can move as fast as regular speed while running but in combat? His movement speed is highly enhanced. His reflexes and reaction times are vastly superior to most fighters in Marvel comics and give him a great edge in combat. This is truly impressive, considering the fact that he is classified as having “normal” movement speed.

Wolverine Combat speed

Wonder Woman has among the fastest movement speed in the DC comics. She was, at times, known to be able to reach Flash’s cruising speed and is often compared to Superman in the context of how fast she can run. She can also fly, and some versions of Wonder Woman in the past were able to teleport as well.

This speed translates well when it comes to combat as well. She can think and react at speeds vastly faster than those of regular human beings and even most superhuman beings. Wonder Woman is rightfully classified as a speedster, even though she doesn’t have access to speed force.

Wonder Woman and Flash

Wolverine can never hope to catch up to Wonder Woman’s speeds, and this is why the point goes to her.

Durability

And now, it’s time to analyze Wolverine’s healing factor. As you know, Wolverine got his “abilities” while he was part of the Weapon-X program, and even Deadpool’s own healing factor is derived from Wolverines. With the healing factor, Wolverine is able to regrow entire limbs.

Wolverine healing factor

It’s not particularly difficult to injure him, but it’s definitely hard to keep him injured and disabled long enough so he doesn’t rejoin the fight. Wolverine also ages more slowly and is immune to all poisons, diseases, drugs, and human ailments. His healing factor is also incredibly fast, meaning he can recover from severe wounds in a matter of minutes, wounds that would have killed any other mutant, being, or superhero.

Wonder Woman also has a fast healing factor and is also known to be able to tank planetary-level damage. She is like Wolverine, immune to most human ailments, and it is extremely difficult to keep her down for long, but she does have some notable weaknesses like sharp weapons and bullets, and Wolverine claws are …well, sharp weapons.

On one side, we have Wolverine, who can regenerate from any damage, and on the other side, we have Wonder Woman, who is technically more durable than Wolverine, but is extremely weak to one specific thing that he has. Sadly we have to share this point.

Points: Wonder Woman (3:2) Wolverine

Intelligence

Wolverine is an exceptional tracker, being more in tune with his animalistic side than most average humans, and his enhanced senses give him quite an advantage when it comes to perceiving the world differently.

However, he was never known to be among the smartest characters in the comics, as his intelligence is classified as average at best. It’s important to mention, though, that Wolverine managed to amass more experience fighting than most other humans in Marvel Comics due to his long life.

On the other hand, Wonder Woman is considered among the smartest superheroes in DC comics, mostly due to the massive life experience that allowed her to accumulate vast skills and knowledge of certain phenomena.

She managed to adapt quickly to the modern world when she left Themyscira and learned English in a matter of days. She is an extremely skilled tactical analyst and one of the greatest diplomats in comics.

Between the two, Wonder Woman is a lot smarter, and this is why the point goes to her.

Points: Wonder Woman (4:2) Wolverine

Combat Skills

Wolverine is a master combatant. He mastered all known forms of armed and unarmed combat. He is also skilled in several assassination techniques, and his superior reflexes allow him to predict the movements and accurately counter everything his opponents can throw at him. He was a samurai, a spy, and a mercenary and got in contact with the projectile, bladed, and other types of weapons.

Wolverine combat skills

Wonder Woman is among the most skilled combatants in the DC universe. She started training her combating skills back when she was still in Themyscira and quickly rose to the ranks among the most skilled fighters among the Amazons. She is skilled in armed, unarmed combat and wields some of the most powerful weapons in the DC comics universe. Her fighting feats are legendary, and there are few characters that can measure up to her.

Based on everything, Wonder Woman and Wolverine are both superb when it comes to fighting, but we’re going to give this one to Diana due to her having more experience.

Wolverine vs. Wonder Woman: who wins?

Based on our analysis, it’s obvious that Wonder Woman is superior to Wolverine in almost every way. She is stronger, faster, more intelligent and would have no trouble dispatching him. Wonder Woman fought much bigger threats in the comics and quickly dispatched them. I sincerely doubt that Wolverine would be an exception to this rule.
